More than a decade after the last chapter in the first series, Namco Bandai has resurrected Rick Taylor in a new Splatterhouse game. According to the press release, Splatterhouse will be released in 2009 for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. The game follows the story of Rick Taylor. He first encounters the Terror Mask as he tries to rescue his girlfriend, Jennifer, from a mysterious evil force. The mask gives him incredible strength and power - unfortunately, he also becomes a creature of violence and destruction. Basically, he's the Hulk, only he isn't green, and he wears a pseudo-hockey mask. Enrico S. seems to have a problem with the fact that the Terror Mask doesn't look like Jason's anymore (the one from Friday the 13th). At any rate, it looks like the developers are trying to live up to the reputation of the first series. Check out the very first batch of screenshots and see for yourself: |

...must buy to me. Maybe not even worth a rental, unless they give more info and show more of what it is about with something great to get people interested. It looks rushed and not well thought out so far.

» Well....
The First one was for The TurboGrafx 16 (if I'm not mistaken), and it was great. It was the game that I think started the whole survival horro genre. I remeber to that in the uncensord version the last boss was somthing on a inverted cross. Hopefully Namco will keep it close to that.
