Force Unleashed - Image 1Right on time! LucasArts' free PS3 and Xbox 360 demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has finally gone live on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

Yeah, finally we're introduced to Darth Vader's so-called Secret Apprentice. And they say the physics engine used in the game is pretty rad too. Better grab the demo now so you know whether or not to get it later on (the game gets released next month on retail - September 16 in North America).

The XBL version is just a little over 900MB and gives a little sampling of the game. It also includes a tutorial on how to use the Secret Apprentice's Force abilities.

Meanwhile, the PSN demo... well, it's already available in Europe, however, as of writing, the PSN Thursday update for North America hasn't come around yet, but chances are, you'll be getting it soon too. You might want to check later on in the day if it does become available. *Update* Yep, North America has it now too. Go, get thee hence! Download. Now!

Say, any of you guys realize that the Secret Apprentice is actually Sam Witwer? Fellow Battlestar Galactica fans would recognize him as Crashdown. See, he's providing the voice for the Apprentice, and the designers of the game actually fashioned the character based on Witwer's appearance. From cylon-smashing to stormtrooper-pwning, eh? Nice.

is frakkin' awesome. I'm sooo getting the game when it comes out.

Actually, I've already been pretty convinced since before. Didn't need a demo for further convincing. But yeah. Demo. Wow. Good job, LucasArts!

Dang it are they just gonna leave the PC and PSP guys out of this!? If they do it really sucks! I mean some of us dont have the cash to buy a PS3 or 360 speacily after when we buy a new PC rig for the Fall/holiday games thats coming out for it.

It was 'allright' but nothing to spectacular. Controlling the force was weird, and everything was falling/blowing up I couldn't see my enemies interacting like I did in the tech vids :(

 » I disagree

I gotta admit at first the force was abit weird but after 20 minutes of chucking stuff at storm troopers, it was mayhem (in a good way :P)!!!

Force Push FTW ^^

You can't be serious. This has to be the best most realistic to the Star Wars Universe Star Wars game ever made!

I downloaded both today and the 360 version's Audio dosen't sync up with the Video. On the PS3 it's fine.

 » Awesome.

Finally the Force actually feels usable other than the jump and force speed.

but now that i have played it i must say... it is AMAZING! Haha i feel like it is my duty to pick up the game in September. the controls are great. they work perfectly!

I'm pretty impressed... I was totally stoked about this game since I laid eyes on it; but now that I've finally got my controller into it, I'm even more excited to get the full game... gonna work this demo around a bit before then.

The force is just so tangible in this. Flinging people to and fro as they grapple at larger objects is nuts. Tossing the tie-fighters around was good times.

Can't wait...

 » demo awsome?

I thought it was lame, graphics were horrible, gameplay was boring, you could slice the robots which was cool but you cant slice people which was stupid... why did they make robots sliceable then? It was pretty much impossible to die and light saber controls were repetitive and boring, Im not buying this game anymore
