 TGS PS3 - Image 1

For those of us wondering if Final Fantasy XIII will remain as an exclusive for the PlayStation 3, Square Enix has given the final answer: yes, the sequel to Square's RPG epic will remain only for Sony's shiny black powerhouse of a console, and will not be available anywhere else.

This nugget of info comes directly from this year's Tokyo Game Show, via the Closed Mega Theater screening of Final Fantasy XIII's latest trailer. The eye candy-rich video clip of next-gen Final Fantasy goodness ended with the words "For PS3 Only" flashing onto the screen. This was also the case with the trailer of Final Fantasy XIII Versus, the darker, grittier title of the two.

So what does this bode for the rest of the consoles, then? Just what it says - there won't be any next-gen Final Fantasy joy for them, sad as it may be. However, all hope is not lost, as this generation has seen some titles jumping from being exclusive to being multiplatform. Aside from that, Square Enix has just announced a couple of other RPG titles for other platforms, including a Kingdom Hearts for the mobile phone.

Now, all we need to hear is the price drop to $400 and all is better in this world

 » NO!!

What would be better is Sony to make their library bigger than think about a price cut, that would be better in the world. There is more important things than price cut.

 » No duh

Its only 720p, but for the length of development and the history of the series, I cant imagine this game being any less than 15GB fully compressed and thats a serious low ball.

It could be released on Blu-Ray ROM for PC, but that would serve an even smaller market than PS3 and it would be a very uncharacteristic move on SE's part.

Honestly, anyone who ever thought any differently was smoking bad crack.

» are you guys getting like gamespot?

it is PS3 exclusive "all hope is not lost"? i thought it was a good thing that they would be staying with sony, since nothing bad was done to them to cuase them to go to a different platform. such is the case with nintendo not allowing them to use CDs for the N64, so there was no way for them to make the game thay wanted, that would blend CGI footage into gameplay, this later became FFVII

This should be in the 360 section by the way your saying things. "all hope is not lost" (for it going multiplaform).
Make seperate articles if your gunna be saying some fanboy like 5hit.
Gamespot puts a little too much of there opinion into there news, looks like you guys are starting that too.
