Sony would never announce a price cut yet. I personally think the rumours about the price cut in December are correct, but Sony really wouldn't announce that in mid September.
If they had done so, many gamers would have waited on that and even more importantly, the focus of the press would be on that instead of the games and new rumble sixaxis.

Everyone is expecting a price cut when the 60GB stocks are close to extinction. Obviously they aren't. Sales are going to be pretty bad for Sony in September and if they 60GB does become hard to find the NPD numbers might drop under 100k again. I think Sony's main concern is HD DVD and that they need to more as maybe Blu-Ray players as possible this holiday season to ensure they stay on top HD DVD standalone players. S I don't think they'll be able to hold off till December to make the price cut. I would expect an announcement in October as long as the 40GB models have been rolled off the production lines ready to distrubution.

hate their money...The value of the system is inline with the value of the games. If they price cut, they actually rip you off if the game prices stay the same. Also, the longer you wait, the more you're going to get ripped off.
This is a long-term POV btw. Those of you who money to burn nevermind.

This makes alot of sense, i understand that games are more important at this moment, so beefing up the library and lowering to price later is a great plan in my eye. Its practically genius........lets hope if it comes to reality.
