Saints Row 2 - Image 1In a not so surprising turn of events, British retailer Tesco has sent out emails informing gamers who signed up for the "Saints Row 2 PS3 for GBP 15.97" offer that their pre-orders have been canceled.

The offer was spotted on the Tesco website yesterday. The price of the PS3 version of THQ's Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) has since been raised to GBP 39.97.

Of course, there has been speculation among those who saw the deal on whether it was simply an error on the part of the retailer or a gimmick to get people to sign up for their services. Whatever the real reason, the offer was simply just too good to be true.
