Thanks for the tip, Ondore! - Image 1It's no secret that most Final Fantasy fans want a FFVII remake. Checking out all corners of the internet will reveal how many rumors and myths there are about Square Enix secretly working on Cloud's shinier hair for the PS3.

Ever since the tech demo, passionate followers believed in their hearts that the remake will indeed come. Well, here's big man Tetsuya Nomura's take on the matter:

"It appears that there are often overseas rumors like 'Are you currently developing a VII remake?' My apologies, but we're absolutely not making [such a game]."

Yes, the FF character designer is talking here. FFVII director Yoshinori Kitase added that most people in FFXIII's development team are fans of the old game and want it remade. Is this some foreshadowing I see?

According to Nomura, the game originally had a character named Hot Blooded Detective Joe when creator Hironobu Sakaguchi wrote it. The story would've followed the main characters around throughout the story. It was scrapped later on when Nomura and Kitase entered the scene. Soon, the other elements came into place as they revised the plot to what it is now.

We've seen these happen before: Hideo Kojima was supposed to quit but he's still working on MGS 4, Shinji Mikami promised to be castrated if Resident Evil 4 ever ported to the PS2. Next thing we know, Squeenix announces FFVII remake is already far in production (with Joe in the cast) after the FFXIII games comes out.

 » oh yes they are................

everyone at square enix party really wanted FF7 for playstation 3 only.there no mention of xbox at all, lol. the point they went that far to a shoe demo which was a lot to show a true remake. they already remade final fantasy 1-6 series inculding tactics. what now remake 3d games for ds again. you know what remske could be better and stable on ps3 or psp. touching is for lazy trust it is. they already finished ff6 already come on. **** Best Buy and EB games both had release date on there site say its coming out next year. original ff3 was really meant for ps2 they even had photos of them looking great, that would have been an awesome remake with great graphics. Im not sure if the best or ebgames have the release date still on there site. they need make ff7 because it was kind of slow moving around the cities. playing the original ff7 makes me a little dizzy when game is about to battle. tell me nintendo ds does not have the capabilities of handling the same power as nintendo 64.
Tetsuya Nomura might not be director possibly producer or none. Probably square enix can do without him.

bye see you next year.

 » good

FFVII is a classic, i'd rather they not remake it...

developers have taken stuff from it and made it better and then people will go on play the remade version and come up with their "oh it's not that good... this is better... they did the same with this game and it was better" and all that bull*****...

let's just appreciate a game for what it is... a legend...

i wouldn't want michael jordan to be suiting up for the bobcats.

I think if it's done correctly they could potentially make more than the original version. People who normally don't play games would probably get interested if they seen a few videos of it in action and you know it would definitely help Sony sell more PS3s.

 » yeah

if square can whore out ff's 1 through 6 on ds/gba, there should be no problem making ff7 on ps3 or psp.

All it would take is one remake of this game to capture all the fans they missed back with the PS1 game. People could finally realize VII is by far the greatest FF title and most possibly the greatest game ever created.

FFI Has been made 7 times
FFII Has been made 8 times
FFIII Has been made 2 times
FFIV Has been made 5 times
FFV Has been made 3 times
FFVI Has been made 3 times

Seems pretty obvious to me that they'll have to move on from the first six games eventually.

It's just a matter of team. Meanwhile, we play GTA 4, Fallout 3 and Starcraft 2. Hooray for sequels and remakes.........
