Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has finally lifted the curtains on The Agency, a fast-paced online action shooter being developed by SOE's Seattle Studio for the PS3 and PC gaming platforms.

The Agency is a pick-up-and-play game where players take on the role of elite agents in a modern setting. The game has a wide variety of cooperative and competitive story-driven missions, promising a great gaming experience for both solo gamers and groups. Here's a list of the features that the game has to offer:
  • The Agency concept art - Image 1Become An Elite Agent: The Agency offers hundreds of unique missions with varied end-goals requiring combat, stealth, and style. With gameplay ranging from sneaky assassinations to all out assaults, from vehicle challenges to casinos loaded with mini-games, there’s something for every aspiring agent.
  • Build Your Own Agency: As players advance through the ranks of their faction, they’ll also begin building their own Agencies. Players will increase their power even further by creating Joint Agencies with others.
  • Mercenary or spy, the choice is yours: In The Agency, collect the right weaponry, gadgets, vehicles, gear, attire and aliases to gain access to various locales and influence over the people within them.
  • Put Operatives to work: Operatives are collectible non-player characters who provide the goods players desire, the services to keep them alive, and allow them to concentrate on the mission at hand. Operatives work 24/7, regardless of whether players are logged in, and they can even keep them up-to-date through email and instant messages.
  • Fun Now, No Waiting: The Agency is not about waiting for the fun to start. At any point, players can take a break from their high-flying career to engage in a number of other activities. Veterans and new players alike can take on other players at the card tables, the shooting range, or in head-to-head combat.

I hope theres no extra online costs to play this game cause i fkin hate it when they charge extra, like WoW and FFXII, its bs, its like you bought the game but you never own it cause your just continually paying it off, its a scam

   Re: woops (Unregistered) - 2007-06-11
 » my bad

i meant to say FFXI not XII, also it would be funny if you could "infitrate" Home and assasinate spammers and r-tards in thier homes :p

 » if its on PS3

its FREE.
except when game developers give major updates in which they are entitled to a small fee which luckily degrades and or dissolves in time.

 » This is..

This is a hard one, it all depends on the execution. My guess is these so called missions will be instances which you and a couple people will have to complete. Not like players roaming the streets will see all this action going down, it will be all out of sight in a separate level. At least I think, just a guess at this point. The graphics are something to be desired, not up to todays standards, but never mind that if the gameplay is actually good.
On another note, Sony not charging for an online game? This seems fishy, they charge for even the worst online games.

 » but

then again sony is giving out alot of free stuff to do with online gaming, they look after us ^_^, sucks to have to pay so that you can enjoy your already purchased games
