 Atari president and former Sony exec Phil Harrison has nothing but praise for his former company's PlayStation Home, telling Eurogamer that Sony has "brilliantly realized their ambitions." Earlier this week, Harrison also said that Sony "will have a very successful platform" with the project that was created under his leadership.Harrison also started tinkering with the newly updated Xbox dashboard, saying, "I was quite impressed actually with some of the things that [Microsoft has] done," he said. "They're re just scratching the surface of what the whole industry recognizes is that customization, socialization and community platforms are going to be just as important as the games themselves." With about 14 million registered accounts for PSN and Live, the two platforms have set the standard for online features and content accessibility. Is that the extent of the customization is a bubble machine and a bunch of white furniture.....
It will be MUCH cooler once they add more furniture, picture frames, appliances ans such....

I recently got in the HOME Beta with the recent UK invites, and I love the Beta, and I really mean that, but it does really seem weird how shallow home seems; what I saw of the beta about 9 months ago seemed to have a lot more depth to it then, for example, they had TV screens, game launching; not just Warhawk, more apartments (and I swear they had the summer house even though it's only just come out), plus they had that grassy place that overlooked the same lake the summer house does, I really wish they'd bring it back, it looks awesome, more clothes, more clubhouses. It's like the took all that stuff away and are only just starting to bring it back. Has anyone here been in the beta longer than the recent invites? Any insight into what I've just said?

Yeah iv'e talked to a lot of people who have been in the beta for awhile and they said they removed most of the homes and new clothing to work on the bugs for the final release. I'm not a programmer so I don't know how the two are releated but I can't wait till everything is up and running.

beacause all the base features of home are free....if you really feel the need to spend your money on superficial things like homes, clubs, furniture, clothes....than that is your own dumb choice.....if you jsut want to use the social features, matchmaking and play the little games they have, well, that won't cost you anything.
It's up to you how much money you want to sink into it....

I own only a PS3 (in this gen)...And, recently a Wii too if you want to count that is current gen. Plus, I'm not of the opinion that any of these MNCs are "giving" to one cause or another. Just telling it like it is.
