It's a wonder if the latest Sony PlayStation 3 ad in Europe is part of the largest ad campaign ever, but this one sure strikes the creepy spots. Or maybe not, if you dig Dracula in shiny red boots and decorated dancers that are supposed to be promoting a home entertainment package. |

SCEU has the oddest ads...seriously...what are they smoking over there? I like the new US ads, I think they really play up the PS3 much better than this.
For what its worth...it does catch your attention with the weirdness...but I think they are taking a really backward approach with this...but then again, I don't live in Europe now do I? What does everyone else think?
I live in europe and I dont find this add any less strange than anybody else...why do you people believe that the europeans are strange and might actually be exiated by such an add?
Anyway, this add as many previous sony one's really try to be different than others,( they are doing a heck of job by the way!) The consept is nice but they should really try and show actual ps3 content, games blu-ray etc not just mentioning them and let the viewer imagine the rest...If you dont own a ps3 or havent heard much about it there is chance that you'll ignore it...
For me as a ps3 owner and an informed cutomer, is easy to understand this add and capture its message, but for other not owning the system and dont no much its going to be creepy, weird and odd.
The ones with the black thing transforming the ps3 into is feutures and games was the best around...
Agreed, and I do own a PS3(and a wii and a 360 for the annoying flamers bound to hop in this conversation). Back to the point, US advertising is much more...tame than this. SCEA and SCEU are taking very large steps in advertising differently. I'm not demeaning Europeans by any means, just commenting on the ad direction of SCEU as being odd and weird.
Here in the states, we have much more conservative advertising methods, like even sex is a no, no, unlike many parts of Europe, where sex in ads is accepted. Americans generally just don't take well to abstract advertising...
Just making a point and it may not apply to everyone's opinion, but from what I see, it applies to many.
Europe Ads *****ing suck, Ads for the 360 and Wii are on all the time showing off games, Sony think by doing this art crap it will sell the console? No way, get the US ads over here and fast!
