Tony Hawk in action - Image 1Skate fans itching for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground definitely have something to be excited about, we've found new details about the upcoming title and it looks good indeed.

The focus this time is bringing yourself to stardom, as you can take videos of your skater self nailing down tricks up to 2 minutes in length, then edit it with a Video Editor that has most functions you'll need. If that's not enough for self gratification, you can add up to 3 effects per clip for more coolness points. You can also set up cameras anywhere in the world, take pictures of yourself (preferably while doing a 900 over a skyscraper) then show sponsors for major cash.

When you're satisfied with your videos, you can project them on the walls of your skate pad so other players online can watch them. In addition, there are over 10 themes and over 100 unique objects you can use to pimp out your skate pad. There's also a bigger version of HORSE to enhance your online experience, allowing 8 players to race to the trickspots they themselves picked.

Looks like we can expect more playtime, with over 290 goals to accomplish and 12 arcade machines that not only allows you to play minigames, but also classic modes from previous Tony Hawk's Pro Skater installments. The story will unfold through 83 cutscenes.

It's probably unfair to compare Tony Hawk's Proving Ground to the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater released on the dusty PlayStation, but there are some pretty interesting trivia. Apparently, you can fit 162 levels of the original in Proving Ground's entire memory budget. Also, skater models on this latest installment will have 20 times more memory than the old classic.
