Splinter Cell: Conviction - Image 1

Rumor debunking time, now. it seems that Ubisoft has finally caught wind of some rumors regarding a PlayStation 3 version of Sam Fisher's upcoming adventure, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360, PC) and decided to set the record straight. What's the final word, then? No, there isn't going to be any, and no, the game itself won't be coming out on April 1.

This statement comes directly from a spokesperson from Ubisoft, who revealed that it was simply a clerical error by UK specialist retailer GAME. The statement itself, verbatim:

This is just a mistake by the retailer. The game is not coming out on PS3 nor is it coming out on April 1. We're sticking to the original announcement.

Bad news, then, for those of us expecting to play as Sam Fisher on Sony's Cell Processor-powered console. Here's hoping that there won't be any more delays, at least.
