Voice command, sci-fi-type weapons...what more can you ask for? Well, more information on Tom Clancy's EndWar (PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, DS), for starters. Fortunately, Ubisoft Creative Director Michael Deplater took the time to do just that during the 2008 Game Developers Conference.

According to Mr. Deplater, Ubisoft "leapfrogged" past the controller issue by designing the voice command feature early and in conjunction with Tom Clancy's EndWar. Ubisoft opted to make the vocabulary of commands short and sweet (E.g. "Unit 1, attack!") in order to keep gameplay as intuitive as possible.

Furthermore, Deplater said that the seemingly sci-fi weapons in Tom Clancy's EndWar were basically adapted from real life weapons that were either on the table, in prototype form or already being used on the real world battlefield: exoskeletons, tactical lasers, combat drones, taser systems and kinetic energy rods mounted on satellites, among others.

Michael Deplater also talked about other stuff, such as army customization and multiplayer elements. If you'd like more information on those, just check out the video below.
