Ummmm why didn't I see the name "Wii" anywhere in the article? Seriously, Nintendo has been supporting the PoP franchise since the beginning (with the exception of PoP 3D...not many people like to talk about that game).
The original PoP 1 & 2 can be found on the SNES I believe, and I'm quite certain also on the GBA.
All three Sands of Time saga games have been on the Gamecube, and reinditions of them on the GBA and DS separately. Though the Wii got a port version of Warrior Within, I honestly don't think that's a good enough reason to exclude PoP4 from it (though that's not the reason the article gave us, that's the only dumb reason I can see why they'd divert their attention from Nintendo).

As for what I think the gauntlet controls...maybe it can control elements. I mean, the essence of time has been used in pretty much every game nowadays, and so has elements (like earth, wind, water, and fire) however it hasn't been used in PoP yet.

i was just addressing this with my fiance.
the problem with the Wii in the long term, is that a lot of really killer titles aren't coming to the console.
where's the Oblivions, Bioshocks, F.E.A.Rs, Ninja Gaidens, Metal Gears, Heavenly Swords, Assassin's Creeds, Strangleholds, Mercenaries, etc for the Wii?
it's simple: the console just isn't powerful enough to handle next gen games.
i'm pretty sure that this new Prince of Persia game will be beyond what we've known of the series on a technical level.
for example, look at Assassin's Creed for the PS3 and 360. this game just couldn't be done on last gen technology, and lets face it, the Wii, under it's hood, wand or not, is last gen technology with a new coat of paint. the technology behind games like Assassin's Creed (and it's advanced environment interactions and AI), and Bioshock just aren't possible on the Wii.
respected developer Bethesda has even said that the Wii couldn't handle Oblivion, putting it in the same category as the original X Box, PS2, and Gamecube.
developers are loving their new toys (360/PS3), and what they can do with those new toys now that they've got a handle on it.
the lack of games not developed by Nintendo for the Wii worries me for it's long term prospects.
most developers are using the other two consoles for their big guns, and the Wii for the extra money they know they can make while the novelty and hype is still white hot.
it has nothing to do with how long Nintendo has been in the Prince's corner, but whether or not the technology is able to pull off the vision they have for the title.
and you never know, the new Prince may grace the Wii in some form or another, but i have a sinking suspicion that due to technical limitations, it would come off as more of the same.
my guess is that it'll come out for the wii alittle bit later... of course the graphics will be downgraded to last gen & the ai as well... but it will probably be ported...
