Add one more title to the list of RTS games. Ubisoft has just announced a new one called R.U.S.E, is a "one-of-a-kind" RTS game set during World War II whose main selling point seems to be a feature that lets players bluff and deceive their way to victory. It looks like the game will be one hell of a strategic confrontation. Deception, bluffing... it comes across as a next-gen hybrid of poker and Battleship. Some card elements have also been woven into the gameplay in the form of various special cards that let you deploy fake tanks, make your units appear stronger, etc. Here's a video from GameSpot for a better explanation: R.U.S.E. is slated for release on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC sometime during Ubisoft's fiscal year 2009/2010. It looks like the PC build will be demoed tomorrow at the Intel booth at GDC, so we should get some more ideas about how this game plays by then. |

Seems like people are getting into RTS games now huh? I mean there was lord of the rings ages ago, then halo wars, now some world war 2 game. Sounds kinda interesting though if it has a twist.

Great genre, oversaturated maybe, but it's some of PC gaming at it's finest.
Console rts needs some work. C&C RA3 and Halo Wars work great and should be a stepping stone for further iterations.
