Listening to comments from fans on the PlayStation blog, the Naughty Dog team has decided to add support for 1080i for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. While the game only supported 720p resolution before, now HDTV owners can also experience the game in high-def goodness.

It's a good thing the resolution issue was brought up before the game's actual release, which isn't that far away. In the meanwhile here is a harbor-view cutscene from the game featuring Nathan and Elena. No gun fights here but it looks like the two are in their early stages of flirting.

I hope more game companies do this. It gives more options to the consumers for the games they can't get to 1080p without sacrifices and now those guys on the Playstation.com Forums will start calming down with all the PS3/old gen tv high def compatibility issues.

 » Good Show Naughty Dog

My respect for Naughty Dog went from through the roof to above the clouds after seeing how much Evan Wells was responding to people. 3rd post down he confirmed to somebody that there would also be a demo out before the game release.

Can't wait to play Uncharted :D

 » I don't care, I have 480i

I just hope they won't make the text goes infinitly microscopic since when I play over the bladestorm demo, my eyes can't see the smaller text (32" sony wega in SD (or low HD, it's 480i with component cables) so I need to move my couch near the TV ( I play at less than 2 meters from my TV (ok, maybe I played from too much distance)). Still, they should add the options of bigger text, like an option to set your screen size so they can choose to output the text bigger (I can't even think about about the people who still have 20" TVs will read bladestorm's text...)).

Anyway, I suppose I'm selfish since everybody with 1080i will be happy! And for you (1080i users), cheers! :D and could you send me some money too? *joke :D I suppose I won't have another TV for 3-4 years from now... The university have all my cash... and I live in QUébec (so the university is almost free compared to US, it' about 800$ per sessions, but I'm in for a Ph.D. in psychology so...)

anyway, the game will be fun! :D see ya guys! :D

Some thoughts:

1. I went for a PhD in psych...it doesnt pay off...too much time and interning...lol
2. Don't kid yourself, 480i isnt low HD no matter what cable's you're using.
3. I hope they include well sized text for you. Best of luck.
