Uwe Boll - Image 1

Got a beef with Uwe Boll? If you want to go all postal on the much-derided director, get Postal 3. He's in it. In fact, he paid to be put in the game.

In an interview with Eurogamer Germany, Running With Scissors boss Vince Desi said Boll paid them to put him in the game. Desi didn't say how much Boll gave, though.

"Uwe will be presented as himself and of course you can have fun with him, it's Postal!" he added, much to the joy of Boll haters everywhere. He also had some words for the aforementioned haters, saying that "they should try to make a movie then they can criticise him."

So there you have it. Postal 3 will be the closest you can get to fulfilling your Boll-bashing fantasies without having to wait for him to challenge you to a boxing match.

Postal 3 is supposed to come out in mid-to-late 2009 for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.

I hate that stupid "you try and make a movie" defense. Its not our freakin' job to make movies.

It's not like he's being forced to make these movies. He does it because he loves it. For that I respect him. However the really low budgets, no support from big studios, bad actors and maybe even his lack of talent just mean his movies are laughably bad.
Honestly tho, no one would be jumping down his throat had he stuck to original projects. Its because he gets his hands on game titles that publishers just foolishly let loose that he's got so many haters.

Finally, I dun think the "defense" make one better your self is stupid at all.

 » Catch-all BS line

I agree with Fable. "you try and do better" is the catch all BS line. Development team came out with a horrible game? "You try and do better." Except that I didn't take 8 years of advanced programming, and I don't claim to be a developer. That would be the king difference. This line of BS is used for any profession. "So what if Jennifer Aniston can't act. She acts better than you do." Except that I don't present myself as an actress, and she does. "So what if I screwed up while fix it your car. You do better." Thats fine, but I'm not a mechanic. That's why I PAID A PROFESSIONAL.

So basically, fitting in with Uwe's BFs logic, it would go like this, in order from worst director ability to best:

1. People who are not directors. Gas station attendants, librarians, Taco Bell workers, myself and most likely everyone reading this post.
2. Uwe Boll and other hacks
3. Successful directors who make movies people actually see.

I agree with him.
1st, you dont have to watch his movies.
2nd, you cant do better.
3rd, who gives a rats arse what you think.

If you dont like his movies then pay to watch something else. Stop having a cry about his movies. Just coz he cant do better doesnt mean they are crap. Poor actors, poor effects and a very limited budget doesnt mean its going to be a box office hit. It all comes down to the names in the movies and

I don't get how this guy even gets people to work with him on movies. They got some strong desire to be forever associated with crap or something?

When you're a crappy developer I guess you'll take anybody who wants to pay YOU to be in the game.

And I hate the defenses "You don't have to watch the movies" or "You try making a movie". Thats like saying your opinion only matters as a critic if you also make movies, and even then, I'm quite sure many movie directors hate this guy's work too. And sure people don't have to watch the movies, but the fact that he defecates all over video games with a lot of his crappy work doesn't win him much respect.
