Legendary action director John Woo is teaming up again with international star Chow Yun-Fat, but this time, it's not for the big screen. They're targeting the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and the PC for a third-person action game we currently know as Stranglehold.

In this video, the developers walk us through on the PlayStation 3 version of the game which employs a lot of Asian-inspired action film elements such as jumping off walls and diving all over the place with Chow Yun-Fat. The game also has this neat feature where the player can do slow-motion combat sequences a la Max Payne to make him feel like a total bad-ass.

The story takes you globetrotting from Hong Kong to Chicago to bring down criminal syndicates. To make the experience complete, Woo and company are even throwing in the film "Hardboiled" which is the inspiration for Stranglehold.

Funny how they attribute the slow mo to Max Payne, it's from John Woo's movies. Max Payne, the Wachowski's and every one else took the slow mo style from John Woo.

This is probably the best video I've seen for this game. Everything else looked like crap before it. It's good, but man they wasted it with a bad color palette. Add some fricking color.

Some of the sliding around looks pretty silly, but other than that the game looks like it will be pretty fun.

Did you see him ride that rolling table? When he hit the window the glass broke. Then when he did the spin the doves fly in. Maybe you should watch Hard Boiled, Better Tomarrow I @II, III is ok but the first 2 are classic. I'm getting the collectors edition with the movie on it. Damn I'm glad Sony didn't use dvd9. lol
