News about the Sony PlayStation 3 and the games for the console will make anyone say "wow." A select few, however, will blow you away. This is video created by Team PS3-Hacks belongs to the latter category.

Yup, Team PS3-Hacks has apparently achieved a breakthrough in the PS3 exploit scene as it showed us that the team can make new titles run on the high-end console even if you haven't updated to the latest firmware. Confirmations on the validity of this accomplishment haven't gotten around just yet but we'll tell you more as soon as we dig up more facts.

If this proves to be real, one has to wonder where it all leads. Do we see an emergence of other hacks in the pipeline? Could this be a prelude to PS3 homebrew? We don't know but it's definitely a trail worth following.

Thanks to Ben02 for this sweet tip!

Kind of seemed weird that the frame skipped. then the TV was a bit further away. Probably switched PS3s or something.

the frame skipped so he can take the tape off the TV screen that blocked his info when he was under system information.

Yeah but he could have done that with his hand to stop speculation.

Either way, the video later tells us that he still has v1.80.

U fakes! You showed HS not being played, cut the camera, updated, then put in a blank mem card, and showed HS being played!

and Was it just me, or did heavenly sword magically eject, and snap into the case, in less than a second, while you held a controller and camera."

I have tried this and I can CONFIRM this.....it works but it doesnt make a difference because there isnt any exploits to access the hypervisor.....or any other internal part of the ps3 so.........it pointless......

so how does it work then?

» i wont bother with this!!

for all my luck, i would probably end up bricking my console well and truely!!!
anyway, until recordable bluray drives and media becomes alot cheaper, dont think its worth bothering with!!

 » This is old...

It was done over 2 months... or actually over 4 months ago. It's the same TIFF exploit. Just look around on PS3-hacks.net to find the files if you want to check it out yourself.

Note: If you do this, your save files won't work anymore when you update your firmware and try to play the game disc directly. Reason to be stated later.

   Re: rawrskies - 2007-09-17
 » yup

Old it is. I still have the mem stick I used with the exploit on it. Utterly useless in the long run, especially since it won't even work for WarHawk (need to signed in PSN to even run it)

I just updated to 1.82 to play heavenly sword now this comes out? That f*cking sucks. I hope there's no 1.5 only exploits in the future.

you should be ok, from what i have been reading a couple promising exploits are still in FW 1.90.

WOW! This news is only what? Almost a month old?

We've been able to crash then swap retail discs for a while now.

This is nothing new.

Damn! Time flies!

This is WAY over a month old :)

 » READ AND WATCH

It is NEW news in the sense that you can skip the firmware check to load newer games if your on older firmware.

The files might be old but the news they are giving people about how you can use them is new, ffs read and watch.

As for people saying its fake just because the frame skipped, that was purley why he took the tape off his TV screen, he coulda just ripped it off but a concious person wouldnt wanna ***** up they're 37" HD LCD flat screen TV. So they might take a little more time.

As to weather it is fake or not that remains to be seen when more people try it out. should it be fake, I doubt people using it would be able to play online since you usually have to already be signed into PSN to do so, if your not the game would attempt to do so when you start it before it loads up fully, in which case you would just get the firmware message again anyway.

Again, that was already known.
