Not long after we've seen him rule the streets once again in "Fast and Furious," hardcore action star and gamer-at-heart Vin Diesel is gonna go back behind the wheel to star in the Wheelman movie, based on the PS3 and Xbox 360 game from Ubisoft.

The movie is to be directed by John Singleton, who also directed "2 Fast 2 Furious" which interestingly enough was the FnF movie that Vin Diesel wasn't in. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will take care of producing, with "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" already under his belt.

If the director's and the producer's creds are any indication, their combination might lead to a respectable output. Maybe. It's a little hard to go wrong with a Diesel movie, so let's just wait and see.

Did you even watch 2 Fast 2 Furious? The movie was horrible.

From what I've read/seen, they are being more then a little presumptious making a movie based off of a game that is already on clearance at many retailers due to very poor sales. How many people out there actually wanted to play this game? Personally, I thought it looked awful.

@Binary, that was the first thing I thought. How could Hollywood in their right mind want to make a movie based on that AWFUL game? .....but then, over the years, I am becoming more and more convinced that Diesel must have a safe-full of damaging dirt on all the Hollywood big-wigs! ;-) (If I remember right, he did start out as a bouncer at the clubs.) Seriously, how could an expensive move like Chronicles of Rid***** (which I did enjoy) that TOTALLY TANKED at the box office ...later spur interest in 2 more sequels (they are incredibly in the works)? How could a guy who bombs the expensive Babylon AD still get work afterward? Better actors than Diesel have had their careers stopped dead in their tracks by just 1 mega-flop, but Diesel just keeps on running without skipping a beat. (I think he's got some major blackmail hidden in his safe, and just keeps bringing it out whenever there's a flop.) :-O

» unsuccessful maybe but the game was awesome!

the story line for the game was actually pretty cool so if they made a movie out of this it would be not bad
