Volition: Saints Row 2

Volition's Greg Donovan recently admitted that they doubt Saints Row 2 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 would be launching bug free. "I don't think any game is," added Donovan, further noting that Volition had begun development on the Saints Row 2 early to minimize any possible problems.

Donovan indicated that their dev schedule was focused on getting the title's gameplay in, even if they were still in the pre-alpha stage. On a more positive note, Donovan also said that the previous issues afflicting the first game shouldn't appear in Saints Row 2.

The company producer also explained while the 360 was the technically Saints Row 2's lead platform, both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions would very much be the same. That said, Donovan hinted that they might be thinking of different DLC for the two versions. Drop by again in case more details are picked up regarding this upcoming title.

 » Not for me

So they're admitting the game has bugs and it has to compete with GTA4? The first game sold well only because there was no next-gen GTA at the time.

 » Thats fine.

I agree with him when he says no game is bug free. It will have a few minor issues but nothing that will destroy the game. Making a bug-free sandbox game has to be impossible.

it is next to impossibe. it is still possible however.

Yeah, but admitting that it is not going to be bug free feels like they're giving up. Its just an excuse to put a broken game out onto the shelves. If they instead stated that they were going to try to make it as bug free as possible, that would have sounded a little better... right now this is just a rent for me.

» This should of stayed exclusive

These devs. are idiots this game will flop becuase ps3 owners don't care bout this game since they never played part 1 and gta is coming this year. This game would be getting more hype if this was a 360 exclusive, but now 360 owners only care bout GTA4.Also, ms would of most likely paid for development and advertisements.Oh well this game will flop cuz no one will buy it with GTA4 on the way. This game will just be marked down as another clone.

as a PS3 owner, I do want to check it out to see why people liked it in the first place. It's a nice alternative to the now-serious GTA.

I'm not terribly interested and of course GTA4 ranks higher than it, but I'll give it a chance, perhaps rent it or w/e. I wouldn't count it out just yet.
