Was the PS3 really shown at E3 - or was it just an Xbox 360 and a PC?

Rumours have been circling the Internet recently, related to the presence of Sony's PS3 at this years E3 gaming expo in LA. IGN has claimed that an Assassins Creed Demo was actually being run on Xbox360 hardware. The IGN article has since been removed, but here's a quote of the article:

"Ubisoft Montreal revealed its next incredible project, Assassins: Creed, exclusively for PlayStation 3 at E3 this year, much to the delight of Sony console fans and to the dismay of Microsoft consoles fans. Ubisoft officially would not comment on a possible Xbox 360 version.

According to sources close to the company, however, there are potential plans for an Xbox 360 version at Assassins: Creed sometime in 2007. Additionally, Microsoft sources who asked not to be mentioned by name, claimed the demo, hidden behind closed doors at E3, was running on an Xbox 360 using a third-party USB PlayStation controller. The game system was hidden in a stand covered by a sheet. Again, Ubisoft officials would not comment."

Theinquirer also claim that Gran Turismo HD was being run on a PC, not a PS3:

"Look closely at that title, it is object rich, interactive, happy and pretty, everything you would expect from a next gen title on a next gen console.

Has Wii seen the marquee launch title? Has Wii found the dev team that managed to crack the cell coding puzzle? Found the next Jeff Minter? What did the Gran Turismo team do? What did Sony do?

Well, the version of Gran Turismo, ostensibly running on a PS3, is really running on a PC. Is Sony trying to tell us that a PC is a better gaming platform than the upcoming $600 beastie, or is it the other way around?

Either way, this would be very embarrassing for them if it got out, so make sure not to tell anyone."

These are only rumours, but considering the setbacks that Sony have made recently with the PS3's release date, there is a possibility that both of these rumours could be true. What do you think?

Well i couldn't really care less about the HD DVD add on at the moment.
About the 20 GB hard drive that the 360 has... I was just flicking through a mag last week and i saw an article that said that MS are thinking about making a 100GB hard drive... I'm not saying they are... i just read it ;)

Ive known this for awhile but i doubt it will be a $100 since the 20g is $100. Maybe somewhere between $150-200 and maybe even more.

yep killafox, im not sure of the price either. Your guess is as good as mine ;)
But lets just hope it comes out soon.
Also at your #97 post... a lot of people dont have HDTVs... dont say 'sucks to be you'... they aren't cheap and most people don't think they need one just yet... ;)
I either run my 360 off my TV or PC monitor (so i can have HD :) )

Anyway... must get back to more important things... (games) :P

Atleast you where smart and are running it off your PC monitor using VGA cables. You are right its all about the games. I know i will have fun with both my 360 and PS3.
