White Knight Chronicles - Image 1


Nothing like a release on Christmas Day to boost your Day 1 sales. Level 5 seems to have had this in mind when they decided to release White Knight Chronicles on the 25th of December. The PS3-exclusive sold an impressive 100,000 copies on its first day, thanks to the holiday splurgefest.

100,000 isn't much compared to the 350,000 that Dissidia: Final Fantasy had about two weeks ago, and the monstrous 670,000 that Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G had on its first day, but the number comes as a surprise since there weren't many pre-orders for White Knight Chronicles. A lot of games slow down in sales after Day 1, so it'd be interesting to see how this one does over the next few days.

Due to the year-end slow down, shipping hasn't been as quick, but new shipments are expected to come by this weekend.
