The president of White Knight's developer, Level 5, sat down with Japan's weekly Famitsu magazine and allowed his insights regarding the game to be put on record.

According to him, they hope to make a game which has at least 50 to 60 hours worth of playtime, which, in his opinion, is the standard play time for an RPG. However, Level 5 initially wanted to get the game shipped in time for the launch of the PS3, which would mean that the game would be some rushed first generation RPG project. Good thing they got to their senses and realized that if they were to do that, they would have to cut the story short, which is definitely something they didn't want to do.

"With White Knight, we don't want to release a half-way product," said Akihiro Hino, the president of Level 5. "We want to have a big title that surpasses the volume of the RPGs we've made in the past."

Well, that's certainly good to hear. It's better to keep us waiting if only the game will truly be worth it, as opposed to having it rushed and falling short entirely of our expectations, right?

It's better that they take their time and release a better version a couple of months later than a rushed game at launch, besides I don't plan on buying a PS3 until six months later when it's easier to get and all the glitches are fixed.

Good thing they're not rushing it, cause we all know what happened to xbox150, it got rushed and it turned out garbage.

cause we all know what happened to xbox150.... un-needed comment. come on now :(

Anyway, yes for the most part delays, even though we hate them, turn out to be for good intentions. I do agree that this rpg looks new and hopefull! So take the time you need to make this a classic or a least the turn for the better. 50-60 hours standard seems like a good call now that I think of it that does make sence.

 » level5 is one of the reason I'll buy a PS3

dragon quest was marvellous, I hope they'll surpass it! even in game time ( It took me 73 hours to finish DQ8 and I was only level 34, LOL maybe it was long because I didn't level up enough? anyway the game was sooo perfect, I was always lauphing at one of my friend who wasn't able to beat doulmagus ( if you write it like that ) in the middle of the game, before he loost his staff, and he was lvl 31. I finished him at lvl 24 =D

ps: viva level 5
