I think the pixel-pushing race between Microsoft and Sony is becoming less and less effective. The gaming experience will only be marginally better even if the graphics are 100 times more powerful. I personally feel the future of gaming will be in new forms of interaction and immersion. That's where the bottle neck is. The successful products will be the ones that provide something exciting and new rather than a slightly better version of what was done before. |

You called it....
Let's hope a company other than Nintendo gets this technology so they don't put it in an obsolete console with nothing but washed up mario games and bad ports from 8 year old systems. It would be amazing what Sony or Microsoft could do with controllers like this.
I share your opinion.
I agree, motion sensing devices would be much more capable in the hands of Microsoft or Sony. When I first got my Wii I aspected it to be great, unfortunely I was disappointed when I found out that the characters were only limited to single digits of moves depending on how you move the controller. Motion sensing controllers would probably work much better on the other stronger consoles which can handle Euphoria. With such strong software the character's hands would move the same way your hands and arms did and wouldn't be limited by move set created by the game company.
I've got big expectations for wii2 OR for wii accessories :D
I study information and media science. What this guy tells is absolutely not true. Most success is always on the media that adopts previous media.
"Immersion": He should not use a word without knowing what it means. The controls of the Wii are anything but natrual thus they offer anything but immersion. Whereas graphical development will in the near future be able to offer a virtual reality. And thos graphics DON'T have do be improved 100 times. trust me. Wait about 15 years and you will see.
