» hooray for wipeout!
in my opinion the wipeout games are essential purchases. they're always there on launch (or thereabouts) too! hopefully they can do some cool stuff with this new version.

» hmm perhaps.
This may be a cool game to pic up when the ps3 hits sheleves(whenever that is) Would like to see what they are going to be adding to it to make it seem better then before.

CELl CPU only 218 GFLOPS!
Sony screwed us all ! First with XCP now with their *****ing CELL Prozessor. At http://www.playstation.com/products.html
you can see that the CELL has ONLY 218 GFLOPS !!! I still see the big fat grins from Ken Kutaragi as he declared the CELL HAS 2 TFLOPS...hahahaha...What a big lie !! The Xbox 360 CPU has near double that Performance...It shows that CELL even can not make wonders possible as every other CPU on the market...it only brings big licensing money to Sony's account...nothing more...just a plain CPU with low performance for too much money...it only
has one Core with 8 free configurable Units and NOT 8 Cores as they stated before...

Funny how these people don't read everything... Got to love those bites....
FYI - was reading about a few dev's regarding the DEV Kit Sony sent them, and guess what, they are throwing everything they can think of to slow it down, but it still keeps going. Funny how the Cell chip will actually work, spec's can be misleading.
Then again who is to say the 6 mini's are not 218GFLOPS each? And what you read forgot that little tid bit.
Specs are nice to compair, but really, wait until the unit comes out and and have the same game from the same company run on the 360 and the PS3, then you can sit there gloating or booing all you want.
Also, are you an ENGy who can explain the nanospecs of each system? Remember, all the items work together to create the powerhouse, CPU, GPU, Memory, Drives, etc. Getting these to work well together for speed is the key. So, the CELL right now is not what they may have wanted, but seeing IBM and what they been doing the last few months, I would not be suprised to

» CELL CPU - pt2
So, the CELL right now is not what they may have wanted, but seeing IBM and what they been doing the last few months, I would not be suprised to see a PS3.5 unit out begining of 2007 with even a faster CELL.
So, please go play with your box(s), and leave the final who is better than who, after the PS3 is released and tested side by side with the 360.

The cell cpu is 218 Gflops yes... but crunching more numbers is what it is capable of... now as for the display of these numbers it needs a graphics card... the combined speed of the GPU aka RSX by Nvidia and the speed of the cell adds up to 2 Tflops. The three cores of the 360 does more than cell alone... but it takes three as opposed to Cells one... READ up on the info seriously

» Surprised at all the Wipeout Love
I was expecting a lot of cynical backtalk about how Wipeout isn't a real racer. Of course I disagree, but i still wish Psyno- I mean Studio Liverpool would work on another Rollcage game.

File this one squarely under "duh", but it looks like there's confirmation coming via Gamefront, that a new Wipeout is in the works for PS3. They glean this info from a job posting made by Wipeout developers (SCEE Liverpool) on which they mention that they're looking for among other things, a programmer for "network user interface". Sounds like we get online play of some sort! Considering the series recent
