World in Conflict - Image 1The console versions for World in Conflict has been very conflicted ever since. From rumored ports, to confirmation, to expected release windows, to actual release delays, it's looking highly unlikely that it's not gonna do the expected crossover, this, despite the recent hopes that it will finally come to the consoles after Ubisoft bought Massive and took the franchise with them.

Today, however, we receive confirmation from Ubisoft itself that the RTS title will remain exclusively on the PC platform for now. The game and its expansion won't be seeing the light of day on either the Xbox 360 or the PS3 in the meantime.

Said Ubi's spokesperson. "For the moment we are releasing Soviet Assault on PC only and have no plans at this time to release it or the Complete Edition on consoles." The Complete Edition includes the original game and expansion.

This is definitely disappointing news. World in Conflict has been teasing us console gamers for almost two years now, and really, we'd just have to wonder if we're ever gonna get it after all this drama.

World in Conflict: Soviet Assault has been in development at Swordfish Studio and Massive Entertainment for Vivendi Games.
