Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - Image 1

It's only been a while since we saw that video of Gran Turismo chief Kazumori Yamauchi talking about the possibility of deformation features in Gran Turismo 5 cars. In that interview, he mentioned that Polyphony Digital is still trying to convince car manufacturers to allow them to include the feature, and that they may be closing in on finalization. Today, the hopes of a lot of series fans have been fulfilled.

In an interview with IGN, Yamauchi announced that body damage on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue's cars is a go, and he said the feature will be incorporated into the game via a PSN update. The popular Japanese dev projected the update to go live by Fall this year.

Fans have long clamored for the deformation feature, while Gran Turismo series critics have been knocking the franchise for the lack of it. How its inclusion will affect the way we play will soon be seen. As for now, it's not easy to contain our excitement to see it happen.

I'm glad they are finally going to do this! I just hope they do it right and really allow the cars to get smashed hardcore like in Burnout Paradise. I would think though that they would want to implement that into the game from the start since that kind of detailed effect is pretty major unless they do it cheaply and just make the textures look damaged. I really hope they go all out on this one.

shut those XBots up... anyway most of them are still in denial "We don't care about GT5P, it's just a demo"... talking about you kingoftheberbs, mr. xmb-in-my-360.

look at the sales morons!!!! look at how many disagree with ur shortsighted viewpoint...

as i said Gran Turismo now, Grand Theft Auto soon, and Metal Gear is next... do that on ur XBox!! keep your downloadable content which, sadly, you are trying to put up against being able to play three of the top franchises in gaming and making it look like you're got it better than PS3 owners.

denial is such a sad thing.

 » lol yeah...

look how in denial they are that they are that they keep thinking that sony still doesn't have many exclusives this year :|

 » Another thingie

And don't forget Final Fantasy XIII ;)

   Re: Quixand - 2008-04-04
 » Ofcourse

i won't!!!! i have that as my most wanted game over everything else buddy...

after Final Fantasy X this would be my much awaited Final Fantasy comeback... i played X2 but it was lacking... i didn't like the online concept they applied with XI... i didn't play XII cause my PS3 was brand new and i was scared to play a PS2 game on it... haha!!.. didn't even play GOW2 cause i made it a rule to only play PS3 games on my PS3 during that time... and when i was already more carefree with my PS3 i was already neck deep in Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden, Resistance, and Motorstorm that i delayed playing those PS2 games that i missed out on... and then Warhawk, Heavenly, Rachet, Uncharted, COD4, and Assassins came out and then DMC4 after that... come to think of it i don't know why those xbots keep on complaining that the PS3 has no games when in fact i didn't even have time to go back to some missed games that i really wanted to play.

so i tell you buddy no way FFXIII gets pass me.

 » One thing though, Quixand

Dude I gotta say you made a big *****ing mistake when you didn't play FFXII. X was *****ing crazy cause it brought it to next gen but it was, imo, outdone XII. Play it...you will think you are playing a *****ing next gen game. I don' think any game pushed PS2 more than that.

Oh and XIII is also my most wanted game right now. I don't particularly care if that, or MGS, or any other game loses exclusivity, I'm just glad I own the console that I am 100% percent sure they will be on.

 » Also

lol, like the comment Quixand. Also dont forget that there is a lot more of the exclusive games, and improvements that are supposed to be out this year.

Like Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, Little Big Planet, Home, Haze, etc. Also cant wait for the updates for Warhawk, COD4, etc. And cant wait till they come out with the in-game xmb later in the year. This is the year for the ps3.

 » To fanboys in general~

Well those are all very valid points you made Quixand. NO really.

I'm sorry you can't afford both consoles. It's called a job.

PS3 is awesome.

I just like to voice chat with FRIENDS while playing some games ONLINE too.

Get a job.

 » wow.. really?

i'm 29... i finished my car payments on two cars and my mortgage on my house is done... the regulars here know that i am self employed even kidding me on my Subway business but it doesn't hurt that my parents has a couple of warehouses under their name.

i didn't buy a 360 which was out a year early and considerably cheaper than the PS3 cause no game came out that convinced me to migrate from Playstation... and until now no game has come close of doing that for me aside from Mass Effect but that is not enough... now i've got three PS3s, my first 60GB is in my bedroom... one in the entertainment room for my two kids, and one in my RV cause we often go on long trips.

now i'm suddenly the one who needs a job just because the XBox 360 can't sell itself to me?

 » cool

It'll look more realistic. Still, it's not why I'm always buying GT games, lol.
