Action game fans now have another thing to look forward to for the New Year. Sega has penciled in an early January release for Bayonetta (PS3, Xbox 360) in the US and Europe.

Japanese magazine Famitsu has given out its verdict for Platinum Games' Bayonetta, and what do you know, it got a perfect score of 40/40. Here's the thing, though. Not only did it get a perfect 40, it also got a 38.

This has got to be in the upper brackets of the "Weirdest Comebacks of All Time" list. Bayonetta (PS3 and Xbox 360) designer  Hideki Kimeya pulled a WTH moment in an interview when he proclaimed that, "I am bald, but I am not gay."

We've been hearing reports of Bayonetta's PS3version being somewhat less than impressive compared to its Xbox 360 counterpart for the past few weeks now. Was Sega's porting job really shoddy? Reports are coming in that Platinum Games and Sega's Bayonetta (PS3 and Xbox 360) is running smoothly where it's supposed to run -- except on the PS3. At a recent demo held in Shinjuku Yodobashi, Japan, the game did not slice through the event as cleanly as expected.

Platinum Games and Sega have finally set a date for Bayonetta's PS3 and Xbox 360 demo. In Japan at least. They've also announced that the demos will be different across the two systems. The difference? An extra stage for the Xbox 360 version.

Its overseas release may have been delayed, but Hideki Kamiya, the Platinum Games team, and Sega are cooking up a little something for gamers looking forward to their action-packed opus, Bayonetta (PS3s and Xbox 360).

More news coming from GamesCom. This one is from Platinum Games' producer, Yusuke Hashimoto, on the delayed Bayonetta (PS3 and Xbox 360). According to Hashimoto, it's almost there in the finish line.

Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya had mentioned replayability for the game before, but apparently Platinum Games won't be going the DLC route to further enhance post-completion play.

Japan may have just recently gotten good news about Bayonetta (PS3 and Xbox 360), but gamers in the West aren't quite as lucky. According to Sega, we'll all have to wait until January of next year for the game's release.
