Take-Two Interactive publishing label 2K Sports is happy to announce that the PlayStation 3 (PS3) version of College Hoops 2K7 is now available at major retail stores all across North America. The Xbox 360 version was released back in November and generally received a warm welcome from sports fans.

"We're thrilled to deliver the first and only college basketball video game for the PlayStation 3 system. The excitement for college basketball is at its annual high - great timing for College Hoops 2K7 for the PlayStation 3 system, which delivers the most authentic and captivating college basketball video game experience anywhere," remarked Greg Thomas, president of 2K Sports studio Visual Concepts.

By now, you should be familiar with the video game's features:

• Signature Style animations and Shot Stick shooting feature
• All-new tilt control free throw shooting feature utilizing the SIXAXIS.
• Seamless online play
• Comprehensive league features, expansive stat tracking, and amazing college atmosphere
• Multiplayer gameplay for up to ten players

There sure is a whole lotta gameplay trailers for this game. How 'bout we give you some in-game screenshots for a change, eh? (Right...if there are too many screenshots, we want videos. If there are too many videos, we want screenshots... We're not fickle. We just like to keep things balanced like that...)

Anyhow, we have here 13 new pics from College Hoops 2K7 that ranges from in-game shots to Match-ups, Draw, and a whole lot of other boards necessary for your play. We like "A day in the life of..." videos, especially if they feature some of our favorite athletes. The problems is, even Duke alumnus J.J. Redick doesn't look all that impressive when all he does is talk.

The man is a basketball player, and being sports fans, we'd love to see what College Hoops 2K7 is all about: the tough inter-college competitions that keep both players (or in this case, gamers) and spectators on their toes.

With that in mind, we introduce you to these five videos. The first one ahead is a trailer for this upcoming PS3 title, while the other four are gameplay vids of some of the more well-known rivalries fans may remember in the realm of college basketball. The PS3 game, College Hoops 2K7, is set to come out a few months from now, that is if the rumor about its release date doesn't materialize into reality. Boasting interesting features like the Chant Creator and the Expanded Coach Mode, it would be a sad thing if this game gets delayed or worst, if it follows the footsteps of cancelled basketball game, NBA Live 07.

But setting the rumors and speculations aside, we have here a video for you about the game. It's not a gameplay video or anything of that sort, it is actually a video about a day in the life of NBA rookie, College Hoops 2K7 cover boy, and Duke alumnus, J.J. Redick. This is actually the third part of a series of videos about him and it's quite interesting to see him doing something aside from playing ball. Anyhow, here's the vid for your viewing pleasure.

Looks like PS3 owners have to wait a bit longer.

College Hoops 2K7 from 2K Sports is a basketball sim where you get to play as coach. It boasts of features like the Chant Creator, Expanded Coach Mode, Team Unity, and lots more.

The College Hoops 2K7 versions for Xbox 360, the original Xbox, and PS2 have been on the shelves for quite some time now. The burning question in people's (specifically college basketball fans who own PS3s) minds is: "Where's the PS3 version?"

It was previously rumored that College Hoops 2K7's PS3 version would be released January 15, but now the date's been changed to March 1, 2007. Many speculate about the real release date since 2K Sports has yet to give an official announcement about it. Some fear that this might share the same fate as NBA Live 07 from EA Sports which was cancelled for the PS3.

Cross your fingers.

Every athlete's got a rhythm to dance to, a natural beat that makes 'em play at their peak. And while we've been talking mostly about the gameplay vids and other features we'll be seeing in College Hoops 2k7, we'll be focusing on another element that's sure to play a major factor on helping the gamers get their groove on when they face off - the game music.

IGN has just posted the lineup of artists providing the soundtrack for the game, and it includes hip-hop groups like 3rd Degree, Deux Process, Ellay Khule, Exile, GERM and Mighty Joe, Knonsense, MHE, The Procussions, Redline 99, The Sole Vibe, SYKO, and Traxamillion.

The other half of the music, guitar heavy alternative rock, will include tracks from bands like Cities In Dust, Good Riddance, Jupiter Hills, Les Savy Fav, and Tokyo Police Club, and P.O.D.

On a special note, groups 3rd Degree, Deux Process, and Traxamillion wrote music just for the game. Streamable versions of the tracks will soon be available over at the 2ksports main site.

I wish I were a little bit taller, I wish I were a baller, I wish I had a girl who looked good I would... Oh never mind. To hell with Skee-Lo's song. At least we're getting College Hoops 2K7 for the 360, PS3, Xbox, and PS2. And for any basketball game, height isn't everything. Across the bar, one of the winning factors is Team Unity.

This is one feature which is going to be very important for 2K Sports' upcoming NCAA title. The better the team gels, the better chances of winning. You'd have to maximize the potential of your college cagers and make sure the team dynamics are strong in both offense and defense. To calculate your Team Unity rating in the game, you must consider four factors:

• lineup consistency
• individual player confidence
• overall team awareness
• strong team leader

A low Team Unity can result in missed passes, messy rotational defenses, or even some sloppy screen setting. This rating will also affect your spot in Legacy Mode, so you better make sure you're not all butterfingers with Team Unity. The games got a whole court-full of features, and here's a vid from 2K Sports to summarize all of them:

2K Sports has just announced details on the unique features that their upcoming basketball simulation game, College Hoops 2K7 (Xbox360, PS3, PS2), will have: the exclusive Chant Creator and an enhanced Coach Mode. The Chant Creator is actually quite interesting, so let us go through the details of that feature first:

Chant Creator: 2K boasts that their Chant Creator will be the first of its kind in any sports title ever released. This feature allows the gamer to "control the excitement" of the crowd by allowing them to construct customized chants to play during moments of gameplay. Players will have a variety of customization options to choose from, including letters, words, drum percussions, mascots, etc.

Also, 2K has added over 200 fight songs, new cheerleader routines, mascot dances, new gym designs, and more than 50 default crowd chants (for when you're not in such a creative mood) you can use to make your team stand out and enhance the college basketball atmosphere.

Expanded Coach Mode: Allows players to adopt a first person perspective through the eyes of the coach. And since you'll be playing as the coach, you can go up and down the sidelines and change the tempo of the game by calling your own plays. With characters designed in the likeness of real-life college coaches such as Billy Donovan, Roy Williams, Jay Wright, and tons more, 2K says college basketball cannot get more real than this.

We have still yet to play the game (or at least the demo) before we can share with you guys whether these features work well and if 2K was able to pull it off, but 'til then, we can at least give them props for introducing new features for future sports titles, eh? We managed to get our hands on some screenshots as well, and we don't know 'bout you guys, but the graphics...meh..still need a lot of tweaking and sprucing up. 2K Line-up Includes:

BioShock (PC, Xbox 360) is a role-playing shooter game set in a war-torn underwater utopia, where mankind has abandoned their humanity in their quest for perfection. Available in 2007.

CivCity: Rome (PC) lets players take charge in building, nurturing and managing the great cities of the Roman Empire. Available in July 2006.

Dungeon Siege II: Broken World (PC) is an action/role-playing expansion game set in a dark, post-apocalyptic fantasy world that concludes the story of Dungeon Siege II. Available in August 2006.

Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony (PSP) features playable characters and AI-controlled pets and companions, as well as freshly designed non-linear, single player campaigns and support for Ad Hoc co-operative and competitive multiplayer games. Available in October 2006.

Family Guy (Current generation console and portable systems) is the first video game based on the hugely popular TV show. Available in Fall 2006.

Ghost Rider (Current generation console and portable systems) is a new third person action video game based on the well-known Marvel Super Hero and upcoming feature film. Players take on the role of Johnny Blaze, a celebrity motorcycle stunt rider who is transformed into a Super Hero with powers to avenge any evil he encounters. Available in Winter 2007.

Prey (PC, Xbox 360) is a first person shooter that introduces innovative gameplay elements including wall-walking, portals, spirit-walking and gravity flipping. Available in July 2006.
