PlayStation Network - Image 1Time again for another update on what's new on the European PlayStation Store. We'll start off with the demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, better known in Japan as Gundam Musou.

This title's been out in Japan - where it managed to sell over 100,000 copies on launch day alone - since March 1. An American version was also released for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 home video game consoles on August 28. Now European gamers can give the game a test run to see if it's worth purchasing.

Three PSOne titles have also been added to the PlayStation Store: Crash Team Racing, Everybody's Golf 2 and Syphon Filter 3. Those in the mood for videos can also check out a trailer for the Blu-ray version of Alien Versus Predator as well as an Uncharted: Drake's Fortune video.

August 28th can't come soon enough, and our hands are itching on Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (Xbox 360, PS3). For those who find the wait to be unbearable, or those still undecided whether to get the game or not, here are some videos showing off DW: Gundam gameplay goodness.

The first video features what drew most Dynasty Warriors fans in: crazy split screen co-op gameplay. Gundam fans also have something to drool about, given that favorites from different series can now fight back to back. Amuro Ray takes the scene in the second video, proving that the original can still match up with new mobile suits.

Versus mode may be sought after, but it occasionally disappears from Dynasty Warriors games. Fortunately, DW: Gundam will allow players to battle it out as shown in the third video. Check it out on the embeds below.

More after the jump!

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam - Image 1

Some games have been delayed this week, but Gundam and Dynasty Warriors fans have much to be happy about. After much wait, Namco Bandai finally announced that Dynasty Warriors: Gundam goes gold. The much anticipated title will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360 later this month, August 28th.

If the demo stage from XBL didn't win you over, we'll have to tell you: Heero Yuy fighting side-by-side with Master Asia is badass. Then again, if the idea of combining Koei's landmark game with the biggest anime/manga mech franchise ever doesn't appeal to you, DW: Gundam may not be your cup of tea.

For US$ 60, you get hack-and-slash goodness packaged with countless of characters and mobile suits from various Gundam series. Doesn't sound like a bargain? More than 100,000 gamers grabbed a copy during the first day of release in Japan, which should mean more than hype can say.

Koei and Namco Bandai's Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (PS3, Xbox 360) certainly brings to mind a very brutal phrase. It's called going for the throat, and by that we mean aiming for those critical points and striking them, HARD, until your opponents go down.

In this new trailer for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, we get to see a host of pilots going for the throat, taking down tons of enemy baddies with relative ease. From Master Asia's Master Gundam to the original RX-78-02 Gundam, you'll see them all hacking and slashing their way through enemy mobile suits.

In any case, the video is short, at 1:42, but it's worth a look, if only to see cool robots beating each other up in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. Enjoy!

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (PS3, Xbox 360) - the title almost says it all. The good thing is, it's a pure mix of Dynasty Warrior's hack-and-slash formula and plenty of mobile suits from the Gundam franchise faithfully recreated in 3D. The bad thing is, well, it's a Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game. Hah, we kid. Our very own Tim Y. is crazy about it.

In the gameplay video we found, apparently the stage the demo revealed, players take control of Heero Yuy in his Wing Zero as he teams up with Master Asia in a mission to destroy hundreds, or even thousands of cannon fodder. Pretty graphics almost make up for the simplistic AI and bland backgrounds. Almost.

It may look like another slightly upgraded version of the long-running DW series, coupled with the biggest anime/manga mecha franchise ever that doesn't have a good history in the video game industry, but it's still a next-gen title worth looking at. You'll know what we're talking about by watching the gameplay footage below.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam demo - Image 1When the demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Musou popped up over at the PlayStation Network (PSN), fans generally had two reactions: those who got it were really happy and excited (that includes QJ.NET) while fans who didn't were asking Koei and Namco Bandai why the demo wasn't released on their respective markets.

The latter is especially true for players in the PAL regions. Gaming site Eurogamer was wondering about the same thing and that's why it recently tried to contact Koei for some clarifications. According to the company's representative, the demo will be soon released for the said markets. It's just that they are on the process of localizing it for PAL territories.

Gundam Musou is one of the most successful PlayStation 3 video games in Japan to date. Namco Bandai decided to attach "Dynasty Warriors" for the title's release outside the Land of the Rising Sun - a move that aims to increase the game's popularity given the two franchise connected to the game.

Despite the confirmation, the representative from Koei failed to mention when exactly the PAL regions will be getting the demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam.

When North America's PlayStation Network uploaded the demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, we could barely keep ourselves from squealing like Japanese school girls. We played the demo, and a few hours (and 20 Dr. Peppers) later, we decided to write up this first-impression review for the benefit of the other fans who're wondering how it all went.

The demo starts us off in original story mode, the backdrop being a mysterious, lava-encrusted planet that's been spotted drifting closer and closer to the earth. This prompts the attention of several of the world's top MS pilots, who see the marauding lump of space rock as a threat that must be destroyed. Plus points to guys who see parallelisms between this and Char's Counterattack (or Unicron...).

You're then asked to select a playable character - you're limited to Heero Yui and the Wing Zero Gundam - after which the pre-mission dialogue begins. Mission 1 partners you with Master Asia (G Gundam), and Jerrid Messa (Zeta Gundam), along with a ragtag squad of Goufs and Zaku-tanks. As Heero would say, "Commencing mission," which would be our cue to give you our impressions.

Our impressions of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam after the jump!

We like mecha fighters. And we like samurai warriors and such. Namco Bandai and Koei tied those two up into one neat package and ended up with Dynasty Heroes: Gundam (or Gundam Musou). We've got a new trailer for the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video game, and we are impressed.

Bring on the futuristic sword fights and the charged up attacks. Oh, and bring on the mecha drones that will taste the wrath of our gigantic blades - plus the guns and rockets that come with the Mobile Suits, of course. In the new trailer, we see Amuro Ray and friends battling across universe. Great special attacks (and special effects that come with them) coupled with good voice acting might make Dynasty Warriors: Gundam a hit with the fans of the series.

Anyway, we'll quit with the babble and leave you to press play. We'll be keeping a close eye on this one, so stay tuned for updates.

We managed to get hold of more Dynasty Warriors: Gundam screenshots, and so far the game keeps looking better and better. Right now the screens can assure us Gundam fans that this new Dynasty Warriors spin-off will not be limited only to characters from Gundam Universal Century (UC) - we can see mobile suits from Alternate Universe series like Epyon from Gundam Wing (that's the red mobile suit with the mean-looking whip).

Should this video game from Koei and Namco Bandai cover ALL Gundam series and have all storylines available, we can all be assured that this will be one lengthy game.

Looking once more at the screenshots, we notice some pilots and mobile suits shift alliances, which is not surprising since we're talking about the granddaddy of all space operas. Puru Two, for instance, fights for the opposing army in one of the screens, while in another screen she requests for your assistance, and belongs to your army. Gundam Epyon, on the other hand, will be available for your use but at some point in the game will become your enemy.

All in all, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam looks like it will live up to the stellar reputation of the long-standing franchise. Do check us out for more Gundam coverage in the days to come.

Dynsaty Warriors: GUNDAM logo - Image 1

Right now, this combination of Gundam and Dynasty Warriors franchises looks like a match made in heaven, as evidenced by the screenshots we've found for you. Omega Force's latest project, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, is a sci-fi hack and slash action rendition of the the ever-popular Gundam series (think Dynasty Warriors cosplaying as Gundam 'bots). The game will be released in late Summer this year.

You can take on the role of your Gundam character of your choice: For now we have a few character profiles of some UC (Universal Century) Gundam characters such as Judau, Bright Noa, Kamille Vidan, and Haman Khan among others. Players can explore and relive the Gundam mythos through playing each of the character's storylines and perspectives on the battles that will be encountered in the game.

We can certainly expect the same fast-paced action from Omega Force's other Dynasty Warriors titles. Rendered in high-definition, the screens that we have right now look sweet, and the game promises to deliver terrestrial as well as stellar action in lightning-fast speed.
