It's been a long time since we've heard anything from the ambitious, lore-rich Elveon or news of its adaptation to Windows, Microsoft's Xbox 360, and (surprise!) Sony's PlayStation 3. Has the action RPG of Elven influence been shelved? That's a negatory, bub. The project apparently changed hands, and Elveon now has hopes of entering the gaming fray in 2009 thanks to the independent game company, Climax Group. UPDATE: Thanks to your comments, we gave another visit to the article's source, PlayStation Universe. Apparently, they were contacted by 10Tacle Studios and they clarified that they never confirmed a PS3 version of Elveon and that they are not currently working on it.

We reported last year that 10tacle Studios' Elveon won't be coming to the PS3, but apparently things have changed. According to PlayStation Universe, 10tactle Studios' Matthias Schindler has confirmed that the action RPG title is now on its merry way to Sony's next-gen console.

Elveon, which is also slated for release on the PC and Xbox 360, follows the adventures of an elvish warrior from the realm of Naon. Conflict arises as the descendants of the gods who abandoned Naon begin to threaten peace in the land, and it's up to the mightiest warrior in all of Naon (that's you) to bring an end to a legendary struggle dating back to the beginnings of the Elvish race.

Elveon is powered by the Unreal 3 engine and features a unique sword-based gameplay with over 100 weapons and four unique weapon classes to choose from. Combat is the name of the game here, and the squeamish need not apply. The game's expected to be released Summer 2007. When Elveon was first announced, it was said to be a multiplatform action and RPG title that will grace the Xbox 360, the PC, and the PS3. The announcement supposedly came from 10tacle Studios and included a target release date of Q2 2007.

According to PS3 Land, PR Manager Marcel Jung has confirmed that the company has no PS3 titles planned or in development. The company did say Elveon will be released for the Xbox 360 and PC as originally planned.

You know what they say, two out of three ain't bad. Unless you were looking forward to playing Elveon on PS3.

This action adventure game set in the medieval times, Elveon, was announced last year for the Xbox 360 by game developer 10Tacle Studios.

As an experienced elite warrior in the game, your ultimate goal is to liberate the city of Nimathar (a portal to the realm of the gods). This will help keep the peace in the Elven realm of Naon where descendants of the gods are causing trouble that might eventually lead to an all-out war.

We've come across several screenshots of 10Tacle Studios' Elveon for the PC and for the next-gen consoles. This game will also be using the Unreal engine 3.

10tacle Studios have confirmed that their Unreal Engine 3 powered epic fantasy game, Elveon will in fact be present and playable at this years E3 in May. The game will be highly open ended and encourage players to explore a massive game world, Elveon, which means "The Book Of Elves" will explore the history and creation of the elf race in the world of Naon. The gods have left the world of Naon in a rush; it is the place they had wanted to transform into their paradise. The Neamas, elves of the ancient times and fellows of the gods, have remained there all alone. A smoldering conflict is gaining more and more importance and a new era starts which is marked by envy, malevolence and relentless wars that prevent the gods' descendants from entering upon their inheritance.
