Not a lot of games can make you say "OMG!" like mad the way Sony Computer Entertainment's (SCE) LocoRoco series can. Thankfully, we've got the sequel LocoRoco Cocoreccho coming and a new trailer to make your day a bit brighter.
We gotta say, it would take a real hard case not to be charmed with this bundle of joy. Who knew tilting shoulder buttons to guide a blob of cuteness could be so addictive? Now the fun factor is raised even higher as you see the fascination with a butterfly drive the screaming blob even crazier than before. Whoopee! Much can be said about how everyone should try this series out, but need we say more when the video speaks for itself? Sure, LocoRoco Cocoreccho won't define the meaning of life for you but hey, it fulfills most people just as much. |

The following news should quell the apparent disappointment European PS3 owners currently hold about the content they get from PlayStation Network. The much-awaited PS3 Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! is now coming to PSN Europe on September 20, for only GBP 1.99 (about US$ 4).While this version of LocoRoco is tagged as a "screensaver" and not as a full game, LocoRoco Cocoreccho will have players scrambling to collect 200 variants of singing happy LocoRocos as they play through minigames. Screensavers were never so much fun, indeed. Do try it out once September 20 hits! |

Do you hear that? That's the unintelligible tune made popular by the little colorful and bouncy bundles of joy. We've got another Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! trailer for you - who can resist those singing bundles of joy?
This interactive screensaver offering from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) is looking just as the engrossing as the PSP original, and we know Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! will be getting oodles of one QJ writer's time (*cough* Mabie A. *cough*). The trailer features a lot of rolling blobs of joy, more trapped Mui Muis, and more complicated worlds. Anyway, Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! (or just LocoRoco Cocoreccho!) is set to ooze to the PlayStation Network sooner than you think so better keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, enjoy the video. |

Yes, that's right. Sony just announced that the latest LocoRoco title, Oideyo LocoRoco! BooBoo Cocoreccho! for the PS3, is actually an interactive screensaver. However, before you groan in utter disappointment, here's some news for you: this time around there's going to be 200 species of LocoRoco and some mini-games! We're not really sure if it can be called a screensaver, not when there's so much to do. We've mentioned that players will take control of a butterfly to lead the LocoRoco around, but that's not all there is to know about this game. There's going to be 200 kinds of LocoRoco (LocoRoco fun increased ten-fold!) for you to lead into safety, and there will be 3 mini games that can be accessed while you lead your horde of cutesy, singing critters. In terms of safety, you might want to avoid the Moa, those creatures that love to eat LocoRoco. If you lose some critters, don't be sad; there will be mini-games that will give you a chance to multiply your LocoRoco. Winning mini-games and self-preservation is crucial; if you lose too many critters the big boss BonMucha will wake up, ending your game. Or screensaver. Oideyo LocoRoco! BooBoo Cocoreccho! will have a crisp 1080p HD resolution, and will use the SIXAXIS controls. There will be an online ranking board as well, where players will be tallied up according to how many LocoRoco were collected in addition to how well they did in the minigames. A Time Attack ranking is also included. All in all, it sounds sweet for a screensaver. Pricing information is not released yet; but what we know is that its not going to be for free. |

With the sequel to the cute puzzle game for the PSP setting itself up for its release onto the PS3, Sony's Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! does more than twist your tongue trying to say it, it gives you another chance to play those cute little happy blobs once again while listening to their catchy little tunes. Here we have a host of screenshots of what the game will look like when it finally comes out for the PS3. While they definitely won't push your console to its limit (or anywhere near it, I think), the simplicity of the series and the cutesy appeal of the game is where it gets its draw. The game is slated to be released by September 21 in Japan. In the meantime, why not look through those little blobs and be mystified at the sugary stickiness of these little critters right after the jump! |

After some time of not getting any updates about the quirky title LocoRoco Cocoreccho, Sony finally confirmed that the downloadable PS3 game will be out in Japan on September 21.Since the game will be making its way to Japanese shelves next month, it's a bit strange to note that not much is known about this title. Famitsu, however, supplied some tidbits regarding the LocoRoco title: the game's full name is Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! The blurb in Famitsu also states that LocoRoco for the PS3 is very much different compared to its predecessor, which was published for the PSP. How different? This time players control a butterfly whose goal is to wake up the sleeping LocoRoco and call their attention, presumably to steer them out of trouble. For those who can't make heads or tails about the full title of this game here's some info: "Cocoreccho" is what the butterfly is called within the game, while "Boo boo" is what the butterfly calls out to get the LocoRoco's attention. "Oideyo" is somewhat akin to saying "come here" in Japanese. It certainly sounds like an interesting title, a good way to while away the time (and at the same time flood our ears with cutesy gibberish music). Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! will be available as a PSN download, and details about its U.S. PlayStation Network launch will be released soon. More details as they come! |

Hankering for more of LocoRoco's blobs of happiness, courtesy of Sony Computer Entertainment? We've got some for you! A video of the LocoRoco PS3 sequel, LocoRoco Cocoreccho, was shown in the Develop Conference in Brighton, and here's the video to prove it.
We can see the cute bouncing blobs of happy joy singing their way as they get buffeted to safety, and as always their song is catchy - maybe too catchy that hearing too much of it will cause the gibberish song to get stuck in your head. As always, we'll keep you posted with the freshest info, so stick with us here at QJ. Meanwhile, sit back and enjoy the video! |
