If somehow you missed the opportunity to join the last  MAG beta and was still hoping to try out the highly anticipated online shooter of the generation, you'll soon get another chance as Zipper Interactive has announced that the current beta program will be extended a little bit longer through the weekend and into early next week.

Jeremy Dunham, Zipper Interactive's new Senior Community Manager, introduced himself to the PlayStation Blog US community, and brought with him news that the latest MAG beta program (#4) is on right now. New features are detailed after the jump

Early this morning, SCEA released an update for the MAG public beta bringing the version up to 1.30. This rather sizable updated saw about 8,000 updates and fixes - but the SCEA director of development, Seth Luisi, wasn't crazy enough to post 'em all at the PlayStation Blog. He did, however, give us a quick list of highlights from the changelog.

The Public Beta is on! If you pre-ordered your copies of MAG from either GameStop or EB Games, then today is the day you've been waiting for. The Beta access was opened at 10:00AM this morning, thus bringing the new Beta participants to join with the existing Public Beta users.

Wanna make sure you don't get caught in the mad rush for MAG? Then head out to 7-11 and place your orders there. That's right, the 24/7 convenience store just made things a tad more convenient for you MAG fans out there.

There are hundreds of reasons why MAG is as massive as its name - 256 to be exact. If you still can't paint the picture in your head as to how awesome this game is, Zipper Interactive let out a little preview of what awaits you and a truckload of your pals when MAG makes its move to PS3s everywhere.

The MAG Beta Test for Qore subscribers has been announced to launch on Thursday, so listen up if you want to be in on this action. Starting today, the first wave of voucher codes will be sent out to ALL Qore subscribers, and will continue for the next few days. Details and more after the jump.

Can't wait for MAG? Sony has just whipped out some pre-order goodies for you to busy yourself with while waiting for the January 26th release in 2010, which is still pretty much ages away. In the meantime, you can check out what you can get your claws on.
