Here we have some new screens of SingStar PS3 fresh off the press, as well as the PR fact sheet for the game. Not that some of its more notable features have already been expensively discussed, such as My SingStar Online and SingStore, so no need to expound on them here. Still, the fact sheet confirms a Fall 2007 launch date for SingStar PS3. It also confirms that, thanks to Blu-Ray, "select videos" can be viewed in full high-definition. Still no word on song pricing on the SingStore though. For now, we give you more screens: |

In a similar vein to Phil Harrison's Game 3.0 speech back in GDC 2007, SingStar producer Paulina Bozek talked about "mass customization," "consumer participation," and "explosion of choice and creativity" - as well as SingStar - in the Nordic Game Conference, reports GamesIndustry. And when she says mass, she means mass. The PlayStation 3 SingStar will launch with 350 songs (not mentioned if in-disc or available in the SingStore), with more than 100 songs to be added every month... that is a lot of songs. Bozek demoed the in-game SingStore as part of her presentation on that "new era of consumer participation." Bozek also presented My SingStar Online, the SingStar community (and roasting) platform, as part of making her point about the importance of choice in gaming. After all, "There have been some big media shifts recently and the landscape of entertainment has changed. MySpace is really the new MTV. TV is online, music is digital, products are tools and players are becoming creators." |

It's hard to believe, that I couldn't see... June release for SingStar PS3? Okay, Sony hasn't said anything official yet. But, as IGN asks, why would Sony then confirm that "new tracks and content specifically created for the PS3 game will be added to the online store on a monthly basis from June onwards"?Hey, it's as close as anyone can get to trying to nail down the date when everyone nails the high note. IGN adds, however, that this June estimate might only apply to PAL territories - Europe and Australia. Anyway, besides that, Sony has also formally announced that SingStar for next-gen comes with 30 fresh tracks from Gwen, OutKast, Coldplay, Pussycat Dolls, Razorlight, Wolfmother, and so on, and so forth... And that the SingStore, which will be updated "on a monthly basis from June onwards," will contain the back catalog of the PS2 SingStar tracks (that may not be included on the PS3 disc). PS2 mics will work with the PS3, and they're developing a wireless mic as well, so you can strut the stage as you sing your heart out. Strut the stage? Pussycat Dolls? Oh no, potential players across the world, unless you can qualify for "The Next Pussycat Doll" or something, for heaven's sake, please spare us the video performance. |

That is the magic of My SingStar's networked, Game 3.0 feature: My SingStar Online. As Lead Designer Kevin Mason explains it in the IGN Blogs, it's a take-off from the concept behind YouTube and Flickr (and other public user-created media sharing sites). Makes sense. One search for amateur band night, or covers of well-known songs, on these sites, and you get three boatloads of hits results. And sometimes, some of the results have been known to melt human flesh at the first note. God forbid that, in the future, My SingStar post-release era, someone butcher the LocoRoco theme song (because, given that it is the LocoRoco theme, such a feat would be unmatched in human history). Keep a USB camera (like the EyeToy) plugged into the PS3 while playing My SingStar. Besides vidcapping your headbanging, your vocal ripping, and your air guitar (this ain't Guitar Hero), it will also take ten still pictures that will form part of your performance's media library. You can check the video, the audio, your score for that song, and those ten pictures before saving them to the HDD and uploading it to My SingStar Online. From there, your performance will be watched, rated, applauded or laughed at - you know, just like YouTube. See? So if the last performance was completely butchered, please, for heaven's sake, try again before uploading. Now about your presence in My SingStar Online: Kevin reveals that your profile will also include your nationality. There are around 260 nationalities to choose from, and will include little flags that go with your profile pic. We're curious if the game will support multiple profiles (for multiple players on multiple profiles simultaneously), even though the PS3's running on one user profile. |

Aside from Rub'a'Dub being revealed during the D.I.C.E. Summit, Phil Harrison gave two other interesting points that a couple of you might have either been eagerly waiting or hoping for.
Loco Roco sequel already in the works Last December, it was reported that a sequel for the bouncy, blobby game of Loco Roco would be getting a sequel. Today, we get confirmation that it's already in the works - so much so now that even Phil Harrison himself was already able to play an early version of it "on the way" to the Summit. Unfortunately, he didn't reveal much and no release date was revealed. Singstar this Spring It's not only the Loco Roco blobs that'll be singing under the rays of a smiling sun. Phil gave a demo of the Singstar, which will be released this spring. The singing-sim will allow you to download songs via the PlayStation Network and you'd even be able to upload your own videos (taken from a USB camera) of yourself singing so that other users could rate it. Although the latest season of "American Idol" is well underway now, who says you can't do your own singing on your Sony device? Whether you've got a PSP or PS3, expect some vocal chords to try your patience this year, whether from squeaky-sounding blobs or tone-deaf siblings. And this time, there's no Simon Cowell to save your soul. More on Phil Harrison's D.I.C.E. Summit talk behind the "Read" link below. |

We've already given you folks several details on the new features of SCEE's SingStar for the PS3, and we've given you some examples of how so much more comprehensive the PS3 version of the game is compared to previous games in the series. In fact QJ Blogger, Chris L, might've gotten a bit carried away while reporting about it. We mean, he even attempted to sing...odd, really.
But, as interesting as gameplay details are one can't deny that often times we're more entertained by video clips of the intro video of the game. So we're giving you guys just that. Below's the intro vid for the game that we found over at PlayStation Universe. If you find the two blokes singing out of tune terribly annoying, skip all the way to 00:30. The ladies might be easier on the ears, or the eyes. Yes, SingStar is what happens when MySpace meets Karaoke meets YouTube on the PS3. Download music, create your own music videos, get horrible scores due to your singing voice...you get the idea. |

Just a couple of hours ago, we shared with you a couple of videos about the different courses you will encounter in racing game MotorStorm. We have also already settled before that developer Evolution Studios did a pretty good job of making giant trucks fly around racing tracks.
While we know that you'll take our word for it, we still wanted the game to speak for itself. So we're sharing with you now a video clip dubbed as "Big Air." As always, things aren't called as such for nothing. In this video, you will see trucks careening and flying as if they are as light as an ordinary racing car. While the video is around three and a half minutes long, we're sure you will enjoy every bit part of it. Anyway, MotorStorm is already released in Japan but they aren't getting any online fun. On the other hand, we here at the Americas would have to wait until March of 2007 to get our hands on MotorStorm. But given all its exciting features, we know it will be worth the wait. |

Sony has just released a video for their next-generation singing game known as My SingStar which will eventually be released on the PS3. This demonstration video shows off a variety of the in-game features, such as theme customization, downloadable content, and even gameplay integration using an Eye-Toy device. This karaoke style game will certainly be a great party title, and you can be sure that the fun will never run out with thanks to the massive downloadable selections available.Download: [My SingStar Gameplay Demonstration Trailer] |

Ten new screenshots from Sony's karaoke game entitled My Singstar have been released. Basically, this game is going to be very similar to Karaoke Revolution except it will use many of the PlayStation 3's cool new features, such as a downloadable store in which you can purchase new songs and support for the EyeToy camera peripheral as well. These screens show off the easy-to-use interface and even one screen during a song to show what the gameplay will look like.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO David Reeves has announced that several PS3 launch titles won't be available until 2007. Christmas, but with Eyetoy described as being "not playable at the moment", Reeves is confident that it "will come before March 2007". The CEO of SCEE is a pretty reliable source, however, Reeves did not make it clear whether these delays are worldwide, or just for the European market. I can't disagree with Reeves when he says "Without being too arrogant about it, I don't think we worry too much about building up the hype in the first six months, but where the rubber hits the road is going to be when all those hardcore gamers have bought PS3. They have also bought Xbox 360 and they have probably bought Nintendo Wii as well.". By Reeves' description, I am not a hardcore gamer, seems I only own a PS2, and probably won't buy an Xbox 360 or a Wii. But one things for sure, no matter what the launch titles are, I'll have a 60GB PS3 by this time next year. |
