Earlier today, Square Enix posted an anagram on their forums, teasing something about Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360, PS3). A mere couple of hours later, the anagram has been figured out.

Codemasters has some goodies for all of you Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PlayStation 3, Xboc 360, and PC) players as the first person tactical shooter's first DLC rolls out for its PC and Xbox 360 versions. Activision will definitely not be kind to those people who attempt to pirate their goose that's sure to lay golden eggs, Modern Warfare 2 (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360). Last Thursday, Activision apparently spotted a high-profile offer posted on Craigslist for the said game. Not about to shrug it off, the publisher actually hired a private investigative firm to catch the seller.

Digital downloads seem to be the way of the future, looking at the current landscape of the gaming industry now. Even analysts say that retail will be overtaken by digital distribution in a mere three years' time. Nintendo's big boss, Satoru Iwata, begs to differ, however. To him, digital distribution will sure be a hit -- but not till 20 years later.

Sony's released a new Bluetooth mouse that's also compatible for use with your PlayStation 3 unit. The VGP-BMS80 is a multi-function laser mouse that works on the new Vaio X, CW and L range of Laptops.

Brother/sister (no, not really) duo The White Stripes will be making their Rock Band debut next week via a track pack featuring three of their songs. For the handheld rhythm gamers, No Doubt and Dropkick Murphys are also on the way to Rock Band Unplugged's in-game music store.

This week's PlayStation Store Update is now live. The controversial Rock Band Nirvana track pack is here, so all you rockers out there are sure to enjoy the animated Kurt Cobain rockin' it out alive and well in this game. It's a double treat too as Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl's own band, Foo Fighters, also shares some love in this week's release. The third quarter financial call for Activision just commenced this afternoon, and the big news that came out of it was that their 2010 games will be bigger, including new iterations for the Call of Duty and Guitar Hero franchises.
