Still wondering why recent hardware sales charts in Japan had the PS3 beating the Wii? Well, if some would argue, a quick assessment would be that Sangoku Musou 5 could have driven up console sales as well. It's one factor, at least.Lucky for us, Koei's just announced that the US version for Shin Sangoku Musou 5, Dynasty Warriors 6, will be shipping to North America come February 19 of next year, simultaneously for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. More details in the full article. |

Hot on the heels of the announcement of a new PS3 model being made available for Japan, Koei has announced a new PS3 bundle that feels more like a treasure box than a mere bundle, mostly for all the added Dynasty Warriors goodness that comes with the bundle itself. According to the latest report from Famitsu, this new PS3 bundle includes a Ceramic White PS3, a copy of Shin Sangoku Musou 5, otherwise known as Dynasty Warriors 6, nine metal character plates, and four postcard-like "skin seals." The price for this treasure bundle is 49,980 yen (US$ 425), and will also come out on November 11, the same day as the release of the new PS3 models. It should be noted, however, that the original price for one of the new PS3 models, minus all the Dynasty Warrior items, is 39,980 yen (US$ 340). You're presumably paying an extra US$ 80 for the game, though those little extras might make it worth a purchase if you're a hardcore Dynasty Warriors fan. |

There's one simple reason why Omega Force and Koei's Dynasty Warriors is a huge international draw: hacking and slashing never get old and are appealing no matter what age group you're in. The mayhem of storming enemy fortresses and busting up thousands of hapless, nameless extras is a sure recipe for fun, and the only thing better than that is doing it with the next-gen muscles of the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360. Dynasty Warriors 6 (PS3, Xbox 360) will be shown off at the Tokyo Game Show 2007 in Japan, but as an appetizer, Koei let loose these 20 lovely screens from the game. Evidently, it's an ancient Chinese setting, but as we all know, the story comes second to the explosive action in store. The plot for Dynasty Warriors 6 is based on the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by author Luo Guanzhong. The game is set for release this November in Japan and in January for the U.S. and Europe. We'll keep you posted for more developments in TGS 2007 soon. Adding to the growing list of games previously exclusive to the PlayStation, Koei finally announced that their newest Shin Sangoku Musou title, Shin Sangoku Musou 5 (Dynasty Warriors 6 to us foreigners), will be released for the Xbox 360 as well. In addition, the PS3 and the Xbox 360 versions will be released simultaneously.
Previously, it was announced that Shin Sangoku Musou 5 would be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Shin Sangoku Musou 5 will be out for both platforms in Japan later this fall, so fans of the epic historical series don't have to sit and twiddle their thumbs for much longer. To whet your appetite for bloodshed in the meantime, you can check out the game's hot new trailer! |
