Siren 2

Imagine living in a landlocked and extremely traditional Japanese village where everything is serene and everyone co-exists in peace. Then all of a sudden, the mountains turned into an infinite sea of red water and you hear a strange call to immerse yourself in it, as you take a dip, you realize that you are transforming into something that you'd only heard about in myths. Then everything just goes horrifyingly blank.

Creepy? Familiar? Well, that's because it is the gameplay of Siren 2, a SCE-developed and -published game released for the PS2 in 2003. SCE had been dropping hints about a PS3 version of the game- from the Project Siren job openings to the inclusion of Siren 3 in the PS3 Tokyo Game Show list. But this time, Japan retail reports have mentioned that SCE is indeed bringing the stealth-based survival horror game into the next generation.

Whether Siren for the PS3 is a continuation of Siren 2 or a completely different story, we could expect shibitos to once again scare us to the point that we're clinging on our pillows while playing or saying all the prayers we know before snoozing. Surely, this is a welcome addition to the list of PS3 games. Let's wish for more info, screens, and even videos as the weeks go by.
