A Japanese game developer has let out a bombshell on his blog, saying that Microsoft did pay off Namco Bandai to secure an "exclusive" Xbox 360 release for Tales of Vesperia. Hold it, though. That's not the best bit. The more interesting part is that Namco used the Microsoft subsidy to cut down the costs of the development of the PS3 version. In essence, therefore, Microsoft paid for the PS3 version's development. That got your attention, didn't it? There's more after the jump.

A US release for the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia hasn't been given the official thumbs up yet, but if you're really keen on trying it out you'll be able to do so next week. Provided you have a Japanese PSN account, of course.

Wow. Lots of updates from Namco Bandai today. This one's not Tekken-related though. For now we turn to another mainstay in the company's portfolio -- the Tales franchise, specifically the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia and the PSP title Tales of VS.

Is Patty the lady pirate coming to the Xbox 360 version of Tales of Vesperia? As if it wasn't bad enough that the PlayStation 3 version will be getting her for sure, word's been going around that she will be coming the the green console as well -- a rather big tease, I'd say.

Not one, not two, but three new Tales games have been revealed care of V-Jump magazine in Japan, and all three of them are being planned for release later this year (or at least in Japan): former 360-exclusive Tales of Vesperia is now also for the PS3, Tales of VS for the PSP - Namco Bandai's answer to Dissidia - and Tales of Graces for the Wii!
