Transfomers: The Game is already released on multiple platforms, but for those of us yet to have a copy on our hands, here's a very, VERY good-looking morsel of eye candy in the form of a trailer that might let us endure a while longer. It's a gameplay video of Bumblebee literally going crazy on the town, as well as reducing a few Decepticons to scrap metal.

The graphics are looking awesome, smooth, sharp - I'm running out of ways on how to describe how good this video looks. Transforming is a joy to behold, and there's nothing quite like chasing a car down and see him seamlessly twist and unfold into a robot that's pretty much out to tear you apart. There's quite a few weird moments where Bumblebee, in car form, takes down a few trees in his way - and they all uproot cleanly. Huh. But then again, he makes things go boom, so it's all good.

In any case, enjoy the video - mindless destruction and mayhem, yay!

  

With several days left before the new Transformers flick hits town, QJ.NET caught up with Activision Producer Callum Godfrey for an exclusive interview regarding their Transformers: The Game project. Callum reveals what's in store for the next-generation consoles as well as some of the things they've accomplished that he's really proud of.

Activision has announced that Traveller's Tales' Transformers: The Game (DS, PC, PSP, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360) has finally rolled out to retail stores nationwide. The game's release has been timed to coincide with the theatrical release of the Transformers live-action film.

"Transformers: The Game lets you choose your side – Autobots or Decepticons – to either protect or destroy Earth," said Will Kassoy, senior vice president of global brand management, Activision, Inc.

"The game features fully destructible environments, an army of playable characters, split second changes from robot to vehicle form and a storyline that goes beyond the film to include some elements from the property’s long history that will also appeal to Generation 1 fans."

This new Transformers: The Game video showcases another boss fight, and this time the brawl's between Autobot Jazz and Decepticon Starscream. For those too young to remember, Jazz (Pontiac Solstice) is Optimus Prime's right hand bot while Starscream (F-22 Raptor) is his counterpart on the Decepticon side of the fence as Megatron's lieutenant. Anyway, they both look very different from their previous incarnations though the size ratio seems accurate enough.

Gameplay videos and teasers aside, here are two fresh videos of the upcoming title Transformers: The Game that take you behind the scenes and fill you in about two very lucky individuals: Megan Fox and Shai Labeouf, both of whom star in the movie AND in the game. We give you the lowdown on how it was like for these two to crash into the world of transforming robots.

In the videos, we learn that these two gave their voices to their likenesses in the game, as well as being involved in the game itself. Shia LeBouf, specifically, mentioned geeking out when he first met the developers behind the game. She added that having Peter Cullen voice Optimus Prime was not only very important, but a key factor in making anything related to the beloved license. We certainly couldn't agree more, and watching the gameplay and cutscene bits of the videos, we just can't wait to get our hands on the game.

Activision's Transformers: The Game will transform and roll out in multiple platforms (PC, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS) come summer of 2007. In the meantime, enjoy the videos!

Finally, we're seeing some action! In case you've had your fill of movie/game preview trailers over the last couple of months, allow us to clear your palette with this new video demonstrating what that Activision's Transformers will look using in-game graphics.

This battle video will feature a bout between Autobot Ironhide (GMC Topkick pickup), and Decepticon Blackout (MH-53 Pave Low helicopter). Of the two, we can't help but feel a tinge of nostalgia for Ironhide - given he was killed in the original Transformers movie (circa 1986), we're happy to see the old soldier back in action.

The second video will be a short interview with Flint Dille, one of the writers of the original Transformers series from the 80s. This short piece (two minutes long) will delve into how Flint was contacted to help with the game's production, as well as reveal his opinions on what's expected to make the game different from its silver screen release.

The new Transformers movie is so close it hurts. Transformers: The Game is also right around the corner and it's shipping for the Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Xbox 360 consoles as well as for the Sony PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS.

As we've reported in earlier posts, the game lets you play either in the side of good or evil with the Autobots or Decepticons. Players can either opt to go for preservation or total destruction in a war where the fates of two worlds depend on.

We got a hold of this nice opening cinematic video and we must say it sets some nice impressions for what could be a real good movie-related game. Have a look:

Pretty sweet, huh? The character scaling, the transformation sequences, and the movements are all eye candy. The characters all look like themselves with a modern streak and we find that amazing. Aside from the good visuals that you've seen, the audio also comes in very crisp. If the actual graphics and sounds hold up in the actual gameplay, Transformers fans will embrace this title like "avant garden."

Optimus Prime and his gang are just about to reach the silver screen, which could only mean one thing for gamers - its multiplatform tie-in, Transformers: The Game is right around the corner. Daniel Suarez, Activision's Executive Producer for the game, sat down with Gamespot to share more info on this upcoming title.

First off, he gave a rundown on the movie's story. Three guys running into giant robots, yada yada. The game won't stray too much from the original plot, but there will be some twists and turns. Instead of focusing on humans, the Transformers will be taking the spotlight.

Also, taking a different angle, the games will show what would've happened if the bad guys win. As we all know, good guys always win; it's no different in the movie.

Suarez continued as he shared a bit about their history, how the movie guys got in touch with the teams involved in developing the game. "This game is gonna be so cool," he quoted the CG guys as he mentioned how skilled their developers are. He also mentioned the voice actors, some coming from the original animated series.

To protect or destroy? That is the question.

Is it nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outraged humans, or to crush them daintily beneath steel-covered feet?

Personally, we're going with the feet thing. Humans snap with a resounding crunch, you know, so it'll be interesting to see how they'd play that out in the game.

Speaking of which, we've got the latest trailer for Activision's Transformers: The Game for you. It plays pretty much like one of Michael Bay's movie trailers, so expect a lot of random destruction, Optimus Prime with a blade, and a flying kick from the new Bumblebee. Enjoy!

We've seen a lot of videos so far featuring the upcoming Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 versions of the title Transformers: The Game and each one adds more to our excitement about the game and the movie. This one features the Optimus Prime voice talent and how he came about with playing the role. Check it out:

The first thing we noticed about the guy is that his normal speaking voice sounds a lot more like what you'd expect to hear from a friend's dad or something. It's just so "middle-aged guy next door." In any case, once the dubbing process starts, he (or at least his vocal chords) transfigures into the mighty Autobot leader and everything else becomes so sweet. Imagine having this guy for your dad and telling the school bus to "transform and roll out" every morning when it picks you up. Even the school bullies will want to be friends with you.

As you probably know, Transformers: The Game is a direct spin-off of the movie which comes out in several weeks' time, albeit with some storyline differences from the flick. Players will be able to choose whether they want to side with the Autobots or the Decepticons to tilt the war that transcends generations and star systems. We'll fill you in on more news as they come.
