flOw - Image 1

We know you're all excited about flOw. You've already seen several screenshots, videos, and even details of this thesis project which was adopted by Sony. So, if you're really interested in the game, you can get it starting tomorrow, February 22, as the game will be available for download.

To make things more interesting, pricing for the game has already been announced. For some time now, it's been expected to debut for US$ 10 which is very reasonable. However, we just found out the game can be purchased for an even lower price of US$ 7.99. Sony, now we're talking...

Anyway, please take note that flOw will run at 1080p and can support up to four players in multiplayer mode.

 » More SLOWDOWN ???

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/765/765822p1.html

Slowdown even on a game like this?, the PS3 versions of side by side comparisons with the 360 versions of COD3 etc also showed framerate drops/slowdown compared to the smooth 360 versions, but something like this also has slowdown?.

I hope they don't wait until late at night to put it on. This is going to be my first ps store buy. I thought that my first buy would be tekken but flow is looking pretty cool. It looks like they may finally have a game that makes the sixaxis fun.

 » Buy it!!!

I'm buying the game simply because it looks good and because Sony needs our help! I spent 600 on a system that is getting killed by a stupid obsolete Nintendo Wii. I just can't see myself playing games with slightly better graphics than the gamecube and 480p for the next 10 years! What is wrong with you people!!!?

» LOL this game is like a PC feebie

Erm you ask what is wrong with people who buy a Wii and you are excited about this weak old PC port release ??..

 » Lambon!

It may be an old weak PC game to you, but I never played it before and it looks interesting to me. If you don't have something positive to say might as well don't say anything traga leche.

» The price makes this game a steal

I cannot wait to play this game. I loved it on the PC, but on my 1080p LCD it's gonna look awesome. Not to mention I'm pretty sure when doing mushrooms it'll just be so much better.

 » Hey CrippyBlunt

buddy dont desperate! Early Wii success was more than expected, a much lower price and cool-for-now controls make the Wii an apparently better buy that PS3, but additionally PS3 games are yet to be seen. After EU & AU launch, with MotorStorm and other good games out, VF5 is already making good waves, Guddam Mosou for Japaneses, PS3 will begin to gain momentum again. A bit later in the year, LAIR, HS, maybe WipEout PS3, Killzone 2, and a good cut price will put the PS3 if not on the top much closer to the number one spot.
As time pass HD-TV becomes more widely used and people will notice that neither DVD nor Wii are the right gear to get the most from their newly acquired 720p/1080p display there will be only one choice, get a PS3.

Meanwhile, and very unnoticed by most PS3 haters, SONY is KILLING HD-DVD putting large quantities of BR players in consumer hands and with major studies supporting BR format, HD-DVD has a very tiny, if any, chance to prevail.

Good Point Man! I'm happy to someone intelligent in with wise words. Man, Let me be honest with you, this whole console war is getting on my nerves. I am not a fan boy of Sony, Nintendo, and/or Microsoft. I am just a gamer. It makes me upset to see SOOO many people trashing the ps3 the way they are. My question is.. but WHY? It is an incredible piece of hardware. I've been playing video games ever since atari came out and I can tell you that every time a console launches the game library will suck its part of it, but as time goes by things get better. PS3 is no exception. The Xbox 360 launch sucked too, but I didn't hear anybody trashing the 360 as much as they ar trashing the ps3. I just want to see the PS3 success becuase I know the future for us gamers will be bright with that system. Just imagine down the road when developers learn how to maximize the PS3's performance and use the 50GB of storage the Blu-ray disc has to offer. Games will be Incredible!! If we don't support it it will never get there and we are going to end up playing Cooking Mama on 480p in our nice 1080p HDTVs. Thanks for the good word man...

 » You are welcome buddy

I'm not fond of any MS product, neither their software (as a Linux user as I am) nor their gaming hardware (my first and only console is a PS2 which still gives me a lot of fun), but I can appreciate MS did a good effort trying to put out a good next-gen gear, gaining an early lead in the market. I have the feeling that MS made several strategic errors, making the X360 (very good gaming machine) feels a bit rushed.

The biggest error was to keep DVD as their format of choice, the second one was no to make a harddisk standard across all the line, other error was to overlook HD def not making HDMI standard as well. If rumors are to be believed, now MS is trying to patch that errors with the famous Black x360. On the other hand, SONY waited a bit longer, delaying the PS3 with the subsequent bash of all the PS3 haters, but put in the market a more complete package, very well integrated and multi-functional, more priced than x360 not doubt about that, but surely it has more value too. The Wii is other story, a pretty basic machine, something like a GC 1.5 that barely support 480p, the feature that makes it interesting is the motion-control-thing, Wii lovers states that they doesnt need good graphics, only good gameplay but Im sure that a 720p capable Wii is their wet dream :D Good Ninty is deceiving people with cheap gear in order to make profits from the very beginning, a real shame IMO. Many Wii and x360 lovers are typical PS3 haters, they want their console of choice to succeed, which is a legit desire, but that impulses them to try to convince, bashing the PS3 as hard as they can, the broad PS2 user base that to get a PS3 is a bad idea.

 » So True

Hey Rasta.. Do you own a PS3? I just noticed you said your first and ONLY console is a PS2. Anyways, I couldn't agree with you more. I personally think that new systems should come with better and improved graphics, gamplay, audio, etc. Maybe to some people graphics isn't everything, but look at the success of Gears of War. A lot of the Hype came from the impressive graphics. I think Graphics and Gameplay are equally important. I give Nintendo Credit for creating a new innovative way to play video games, but I also have to say that the poor graphics and lack of high definition really disappoints me. They co ntinue to develop childish games that don't attract me. Another reason Nintendo is doing so well is because of the new Zelda game. That is a huge dissapointment. That game was supposed to be released years ago, but Nintendo saw the failure in the Gamecube and decided to attack the new generation with that title on the Wii as well as on the Gamecube. Smart move if you ask me, but where are all the gamecube owners that now have an obsolete system that only lasted 6 years? You don't hear anyone complaining about that.

Yet, Sony is currently supporting the PS2, PS3, and PSP. They are even supporting the PS1 if you want to count the games that will eventually be released for the PSP. Now, that's true support! I hope people will open their eyes and see the reality of the situation. PS3 came to stay with us for at least 10 years so the high price tag isn't really that high when you take other things into consideration.....

   Re: doger (Unregistered) - 2007-02-22
 »  ?????????????????

LOL I gotta say your hype for the PS3 is hilarious, everything you said there applies to all THREE consoles and the fact is the Wii is crushing the PS3 worldwide and outside of Japan the PS3 is in LAST place.

Oh and of course your list, yup that same old tired list, ALL the consoles can show a list as long as your arm for their coming releases and everything on that list there will be one just as equal if not better (especially graphically on the 360) on ALL machines.

Meanwhile HD_DVD is still the biggest selling more in the real world.

Oh and yet another thread outlining the differences between the damn consoles. What a surprise!

Why the hell is the 360 getting a mention on this thread?? anyone care to explain...

"the PS3 versions of side by side comparisons with the 360 versions of COD3 etc also showed framerate drops/slowdown compared to the smooth 360 versions, but something like this also has slowdown?. "

WTF does that have to do with flOw????
