LA Lakers superstar and NBA 2K10 coverboy Kobe Bryant sat down for a little chit-chat with USA Today and talked about his video gaming love. Yes, even the pros enjoy sitting back and playing their favorite sports games. It even gets very competitive when he and his boys play. In fact, Kobe says that "it becomes almost like its own sport."

2K Sports has finally revealed the details of the upcoming patch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of NBA 2K10. The game, which was released early this month, has hit a snag with players experiencing poor frame rate, online issues, lackluster A.I and various other glitches. It's no secret that Electronic Arts is pinning high hopes for NBA Live 10 (Xbox 360, PS3, PSP). If they're planning to catch up to 2K Sports like they said they would, then they'd better shape up and bring it. One of their pitches is the Dynamic Season feature, which we can learn more about through this dev diary.

Earlier this month we heard rumors about something called NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, which was supposed to let players train draft candidates to boost their attributes before drafting them into the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of NBA 2K10. It's one thing to know you've got great competition, it's another to admit that they're doing much better than you. That's exactly what Peter Moore did in his interview with Industry Gamers, when he admitted that 2K Sports is doing much better than his EA Sports. He's not gonna sit and watch his guys eat some 2K dust though, he and his crew are "working very, very diligently" to close the gap that 2K made between them.

Taking the spotlight in this week's edition of our On Shelves post, the 2K Sports baseball franchise returns in The Bigs 2, which is now out in stores and waiting to be bought by baseball and sports game fans. The Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, and Wii release is accompanied by this Opus Launch trailer, which you can catch after the jump.

An unnamed source close to Joystiq has revealed that 2K Sports is currently working on an NBA 2K10 (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, and PC) spinoff, which will be called NBA 2K10: Draft Combine. This spinoff is supposed to be released separately from NBA 2K10, where you are to train draft candidates to boost their attributes before drafting them into NBA 2K10. More after the jump.

Minus the digital downloads, this has to be one of the smallest batches we've seen on On Shelves. Talk about a dry batch - no AAA titles in this lineup. Seems like 2K Sports is rolling out the red carpet for the 10th anniversary of the NBA 2K franchise. Team Xbox reports that a special limited collector's edition of NBA 2K10 is in the works.

When publishers whip out screenshots, they usually come in groups. Today, however, says different. What we have now is the first screenshot of NBA 2K10 from 2K Sports, and yes, that's in singular.
