The PS3 is one remarkable piece of hardware. As their ad campaign says: "It only does everything." Judging by its skyrocketing sales right now, a lot of people like the PS3. One of those is Haruki Nakayama, chairman of Marvelous Entertainment, which for the most part has released games for the Wii. Now, Nakayama has expressed through his blog that he wants to develop for the PS3.

Taking the spotlight in this week's edition of our On Shelves post, the 2K Sports baseball franchise returns in The Bigs 2, which is now out in stores and waiting to be bought by baseball and sports game fans. The Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, and Wii release is accompanied by this Opus Launch trailer, which you can catch after the jump.

Minus the digital downloads, this has to be one of the smallest batches we've seen on On Shelves. Talk about a dry batch - no AAA titles in this lineup. Anyway, there's still ArmA II for the PC if you're a die-hard FPS fan, or if you're a baseball fan, 2K Sports' The Bigs is also coming out this week. Grab those baseball clubs. The Godfather is coming Home. Or so it seems. At the PlayStation EU forums, someone's taken the liberty of snapping some shots of posters that have appeared above his Home plaza announcing that Godfather II is coming soon to Home. Could it be in the form of threads, maybe a virtual launch event, or hell, why not a Home space? Sony, after all, is planning to release some three spaces per month, and this looks like it's got a shot at it.

Gotta be in-the-know about the latest releases right? For that, we've got another edition of On Shelves for this week. We've got a pretty solid batch coming up, starting with the release of Halo Wars and Phantasy Star Portable. Baseball's gonna be big this week as well, with the release of Major League Baseball 2K9 and MLB 09: The Show. More info coming right up!
