It's been reaping the accolades from among the industry critics, and the numbers aren't lying either. Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) has reportedly shipped out an astonishing number of over 2.5 million units to retail since it launched some three weeks ago.

Heads up Europe! The latest PlayStation Store update is now available. This week, you can download three new dynamic themes coming from LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm and WipEout HD along with a free WipEout HD theme. A brand new downloadable puzzle/adventure game Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos will also debut this week with new demos of FIFA 10, Fat Princess, LittleBigPlanet and Katamari Forever just waiting in line. For PSP owners, you can grab Fate/Unlimited Codes and the demo for Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!.

This week's content includes a Crash Commando fill game price cut,  three new downloadable games featuring Smash Cars and Battle Tanks, playable demos of F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn and NHL 10 and more. For Batman: Arkham Asylum fans, now is your change to add the Joker in the game for free while PSP owners can get hold of Dynasty Warriors. More after the jump.

The European PlayStation Store update is now available. This weeks content features a downloadable quiz game TV Show King, the demo version of Batman: Arkham Asylum, a trial for Rag Doll Kung-Fu and the third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War. You can also grab the Waldgeist expansion pack for Savage Moon, the inFamous Cole costume for LittleBigPlanet and new contents for Fight Night Round 4.

As GamesCom slowly approaches, we've got more publishers announcing their lineup for the said event. For today, it's Square Enix and their newly-acquired Eidos, and the two will be sharing one booth to showcase their joint lineup. Hold your horses though, there aren't any crossovers from the two publishers just yet.

The newly formed Square Enix Europe has announced the games they'll be bringing to this year's GamesCom event. The list consists of games from both Square Enix and Europe and includes such titles as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). Four different Final Fantasies are also part of the showcase.

GameStop is offering a sweet deal for those who will pre-order Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). They're throwing in the in-game Villain Challenge Map, and you'd surely want to have a go at that as soon as you can because supply's only as good as it lasts.

The playable Joker will be exclusive to the PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). This is to finally put an end to those rumors claiming that the Joker DLC is also coming to Xbox Live. Rocksteady's Sefton Hill has made the confirmation and Xbox 360 owners will miss out on the must-have add-on.

The Playstation Store update for Europe is now available.
