How much do you think will Modern Warfare 2 (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360) sell in its first week of launch? Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter is of the opinion that it will move a humongous US$ 500 million, most likely more.

SCEA has announced a new downloadable map pack for SOCOM: Confrontation is on the way. Known simply as the Cold Front pack, it will be loaded with new features and contents, including a brand new snowy Eastern European area of operations. It will also include two new maps and three classic SOCOM maps for 16 to 32 players.

For those who simply can't go through a game without showin' some Trophy (or Achievement) lovin', Infinity Ward has specified the badges you will be earning in Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) to show off your prodigious skills (or that you have so much time on your hands).

Wolfenstein (PC, PS3, and Xbox 360) is not welcome in Germany. Because of the presence of the Nazi symbol, the game has been consequently denied in the said country. In case you weren't aware, the Swastika and other Nazi-related symbols are forbidden from within games in the country.

So earlier we reported about the threat  issued by Activision Blizzard Boss Bobby Kotick to Sony about the possible pullout of his company to publish games on the PS3 and the PSP if Sony does not cut the price of the PS3 and reduced its licensing fees. An SCEE representative then gave a short response about the matter but refused to comment any further. Well here comes Playstation spokesman Patrick Seybold to the rescue.

Activision Blizzard President and CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement earlier that he plans to abandon Sony's PS3 and PSP platforms unless Sony drops the PS3's price and reduced its licensing fees. Sony's reaction: we're not reacting on that one.

Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith has revealed that they have now set their sights on breaking into the action genre with a brand new IP. Details about the IP are still scarce, but Griffith did share with Develop why Activision, which has become decidedly restrictive when it comes to new IP, made the decision. I bet you guys can guess why.

An MMO GTA? Can you imagine that? Janco Partners is certainly imagining it as it ponders on Take-Two Interactive's prospects at acquisition. Mike Hickey is of the opinion that given the proven success of the franchise, the company is a very enticing candidate for future acquisition.
