Midway has opened the fiscal year with some pretty big losses, and some shuffling has been done in hopes of turning the company's fortunes around. Three top executives have had their resignations confirmed, while a few more could be made public in the coming days. More in the full article.

Midway has announced that it will be merging its San Diego and Los Angeles Studios by this September. Among other things, this merger may have a direct effect on the work of the development team behind TNA iMPACT! (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii). EA Sports may have the exclusive rights to develop NFL games, but more and more publishers are finding ways to capture the football audience with titles not based on the league. Take for instance Midway Games' Blitz: The League - it offers what looks like great visuals, intense action, and a deep array of modes to keep any gridiron game fan happy. Hot off EA CEO John Riccitiello's announcement of a new Need For Speed game, some less exciting revelations were dropped. The publisher revealed that two of their premiere titles won't be coming out until early 2009. The games in question are BioWare's Dragon Age and Pandemic's Saboteur. More details after the jump.

Midway Games has been on a bit of a slowdown as of late with lukewarm reception on some of its releases, controversial resignations, and so-so financial results. The company seems to have felt the need for a change in leadership, prompting old CEO David Zucker to resign and for Interim CEO and President Matthew Booty to take over.
