They have their reasons, but pulling it down didn't stop GTPlanet from getting the whole thing. PS3 Slim - Image 1Those leaked images that everyone thought were fake have finally been vindicated with Sony's announcement of the PS3 Slim at GamesCom just about an hour ago. Now we've come across a few official images of the new PS3 model as well as a video of SCEA president Jack Tretton showing off the Slim. We've also got some preliminary tech specs for the new console after the jump.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has finally unveiled the launch date of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete on the Blu-ray. The said launch will be happening on the 7th of June. PlayStation - Image 1They may be closing their PlayStation outlet in the Metreon Center in San Francisco, but Sony is still pushing forward to promote its brands. This week, Sony will be all over a 14-screen cinema complex at The Oaks shopping center in LA, featuring of course, nothing but Sony and PlayStation goodness. More info inside.

Panasonic open 3D Blu-ray labs - Image 1Sony got the crowd ooohing and aaahing at their stereoscopic 3D display back at CES last month. They also got a lot of booing when it was leaked that they won't release the technology to the public, mainly because you'll need the proper hardware to make it run.

And it's Panasonic to the rescue. The company is opening its own 3D Blu-ray labs, which aims to make a 3D Full HD available to the general public. Details after the link.
