EGM - Image 1Just hours ago, Steve Harris Tweeted, and now I'm all excited. The founder of Electronic Gaming Monthly has already spoken of his mag's return to the scene, and thanks to his latest Twitter update, we now know that plans are in motion to bring the great gaming mag back by December 1st.

QuickJump QuickPeek - Image 1For the weekend directly leading up to the E3 event, it sure was jampacked with news, wasn't it? If you've been hanging around the industry for a while now, you'd know that the usual occurrence during this time of the year (or whenever there is an event, actually), is to have some kind of drought in news. But no, not this year. Everyone's just as pumped up about the upcoming event, it didn't matter if the news that came out were more on the rumors and speculations and "leaks" side. We don't mind. We know we're in for the big stuff. Are you ready?

EGM is BACK! - Image 1Gaming mag EGM is on its way back to printing and store shelves now that its founder, Steve Harris, has re-acquired its trademarks and publishing rights. According to the press release, Harris entered an agreement with Ziff Davis Media and the former now has plans to re-launch Electronic Gaming Monthly in the second half of 2009. More after the jump.

Final EGM issue to be 'printed' on 1UP - Image 1It's a sad day in gaming to see EGM go. The mag has officially ceased publication as of this month. EGM, which was one of the longest-running video game mags around, will release its "final" issue online. Go to the full article to see the issue's awesome cover, which will sadly never be printed.

1UP logo - Image 1It's official. Ziff Davis has sold 1UP to UGO Entertainment and has closed EGM. This was confirmed by no less than an official press release from both camps earlier today. The axe has fallen, and it's fallen hard. GameVideos.com and others take the hit as well. Full details right after the jump.

Hideo Kojima - Image 1Hideo Kojima recently visited the offices of Call of Duty studio, Infinity Ward. This caused a bit of ruckus in the rumor mill, with people taking this as a sign that Kojima's next game really is a first-person shooter. EGM - Image 1Is the magazine industry already bust? You've probably heard a lot of print media transferring to the e-format due to various reasons (mostly because of the lack of demand and rising printing costs). Earlier this week, the publication firm has revealed their plans to cease print circulation of PC Magazine, and opt for the e-publication approach. It was also noted that they're currently considering Electronic Gaming Monthly to follow suit.
