The Club - Image 1

If you're itching for a dark underground brawler on your next-gen system, Bizarre Creations may have just the thing for you. The Club is a bloodsport type of game which pits you against a myriad of other urban warriors using an action game template and combo controls.

Think of this title as Fight Club meets Devil May Cry. A faceless organization of wealthy gamblers is behind the fights and are using it to place bets and entertain themselves. Your job is to break everyone until there's nobody left standing and that's pretty much it. Beating everyone to a bloody pulp doesn't grow old.

A rich multiplayer mode has been promised comprising of an offline mode that can host four players in split-screen melees or online slugfests where 16 players can go for broke at any given time. Power rankings will be displayed on a leaderboard so we can all see whose butt is carved out of wood and whose is a whop of cookie dough. The game comes out for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and the PC.

mahjongtaikai

So you have your 1080p Lair, Virtua Tennis, Gran Turismo HD, and Ridge Racer. But even though these are without a doubt great games, that list for 1080p titles is still short, don't you think? And what else would make your HDTV go haywire with joy but more 1080p games?!

Thankfully, Koei is aware of this obvious lack in 1080p titles as they're coming out with one more to add to your list. Yes, you will get to play Mahjong Taikai IV in full HD! See Koei has started their print marketing for the game, and in addition to the game's nationwide online play, variety of characters, full voice, and varied difficulty levels, the print ads highlight and emphasize that the game will support 1080p.

Now, unless Konami's PS3 launch title, Mahjong Fight Club, will also support 1080p, looks like Mahjong Taikai IV will be the obvious choice for HDTV-owning would-be PS3 users. Sadly though, Mahjong Taikai IV won't be released in the U.S., but you can always have it imported, yes? Mahjong Taikai IV will hit Japanese shelves on November 22nd.

Unfortunately for most of us who don't have much Nihonggo skills to show for, looking through that list didn't do us any good.
