Despite the lackluster appeal of movie adaptations of video games, super Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer remains positive that one day, they just might get it right. And it won't suck the living daylights out of us anymore.

Calling 2D fighting "a lost art," Shane Bettenhausen of Ignition Entertainment took the opportunity to ramp up publicity for King of Fighters XII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), the latest in the SNK Playmore 2D-fighting franchise. There aren't many 2D fighters out there anymore, with the exception of a few loyal franchises, and King of Fighters is one of the last ones standing. With its release, King of Fighters XII will be duking it out with younger fighters in the industry, so let's see how the veteran will make his move.

After last week's rather paltry offerings, we finally get a hefty bunch of new releases. The PSP gets the shaft again this week with no releases, followed by the PC which has only one actual playable new game out. OK, there are two PC titles in the list, but come on. Hannah Montana? Meanwhile, the DS gets more than the usual amount of good games. Really, there are only a couple of shovelware titles in there. Usually they make up like 60% of the DS list.
