With their new James Bond game coming out next year plus plans to make a series out of the Bond franchise, Activision decided not to get Daniel Craig as the face of their James Bond. Daniel Craig's a big star - it'll be hard to fit sessions of dialog recording into his busy schedule, he'll have Bond movies to shoot - all that and he's expensive, too. So instead, we'll be getting Adam Croasdell.

This week on PSN: Jim Carrey shows us two sides of his acting repertoire in Yes Man and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; Kate Beckinsale struts her stuff in Van Helsing, and Daniel Craig shows us his 2006 performance as the new James Bond in Casino Royale. Activision has revealed that a new entry in its James Bond game franchise has been delayed to 2010. This announcement was made by Activision CFO Thomas Tipple in a conference call with investors today.

It's quite natrual how some media would borrow elements from other media these days. Some movies, for example, take a lot from mythology. As such, video games borrow lots of elements from movies as well, and the Metal Gear Solid series is no exception. Since James Bond is the distinctly British brainchild of a British author, it's only fitting that gamers in the UK gets some special stuff to commemorate the release of Quantum of Solace (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, DS, Wii, and PC), the latest 007 video game. That's exactly what Gamestation is bringing to UK gamers via their special Quantum of Solace Collector's Edition. Details after the jump.

So will Quantum of Solace be the next big Bond game after GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64? While everyone's still hoping for Rare's classic FPS to his online networks (XBL, VC, PSN?), this looks promising nonetheless. Here's a launch trailer that Activision's released in anticipation for the game's impending release. Yay for Dame Judi Dench! (They should get her to do more voice-over narrations in video games, I swear...)

Quantum of Solace has received an official release date from Activision. Expect the game to hit shelves on November 4. Better get yourself a pre-order as well; those who do will get access to a multiplayer map pack for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Since the game runs on the same engine as Call of Duty 4, I'm betting that map pack's worth getting. More details after the link.

There's more than a month to go before Quantum of Solace (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, DS, Wii, PC) comes out, but Activision's 2009 game lineup has revealed that a new James Bond game is already slated for release next year along with three new IPs. More in the full article.

If you liked Call of Duty 4, chances are, you might like Quantum of Solace even better. In fact, the developers under Activision have taken their CoD4 engine and built on that to make this upcoming 007 title.
